Downlights to central light?

    Hi all. Buying house where kitchen has downlights (not a fan of them) How big a job is it to replace with. Central light fitting?

    Replacing lights...easy
    Filling holes where downlights were...difficult and should not be done by an electrician.

    Filling holes:

    Cut bit of 2x1 a couple of inches longer than diameter of hole.

    Insert wood into hole and lay it over the middle of the hole, leaving an inch resting on either side of the hole.

    Hook your finger over the wood to hold it tight against the ceiling. Screw a screw through the plasterboard and into the inch overhanging wood both sides.

    Get some plasterboard and cut circles either with a padsaw (plasterboard saw) or a hole cutting saw

    Screw these discs to your mini batten

    Fill/sand/paint
