We sow oats but the sowing rates is the same.
    Drilling - Oats 75kgs & linseed 15kgs
Broadcasting (increase by half for larger seeds and one third for small seeds) so oats - 110kgs & linseed 20kgs

We’ve been ploughing and sowing 100kg oats and 20kg linseed on a hectare. It’s always grown fine.

I didn't know there was a different rate for drilling and broadcasting

It's been that way from the beginning. I presume there is more loss with broadcasting due to birds even though the oats would be harrowed in. We don't harrow the linseed in (only roll) and it grows fine. Don't forget to write in the additional sowing rate in your record sheets and keep the labels from the bags.
