What 4 other centres are playing better than him? Only 1 arguably that is playing as well as him recently (ringrose) if you don’t account for him last week

Henshaw, Aki and Ringrose are ahead of him on the plane without a shadow of a doubt. He's then competing with the likes of Will Addison who can cover multiple positions and McCloskey who's also had an outstanding season.

Munster had a two on one overlap with Furlong the only covering defender

I'd be hooking Byrne straight off for kicking that.

Cian Healy to Furlong to Cronin.

    The ultimate backline.

    Healy-Furlong-Cronin >> Try!!! Lovely stuff.

The one in behind? It was a very good idea that nearly paid off.

    Great try.

There was no runners, he kicked it straight at Haley. Leinster were starting to turn the screw against 14 men with the sin bin running out. Unless a try is a near certainty you don't kick it away. He was taken off at the next opportunity anyway which may be a coincidence but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

They couldn't break the Munster line down and Haley couldn't gather it before meeting a face full of Ringrose.

If Scannell's kick wasn't so good we wouldn't be having this conversation. He tried something different because the Munster line was holding firm.

Henshaw and Aki will go as 12s, Farrell better at 13 than both, Addison hasn’t played in months so highly unlikely he will be going. If mccloskey was going (he won’t be) it would be in place of henshaw

Ah they were creaking, as could be seen from the try on the next passage of play. Agree to disagree but that was the equivalent of a cardinal sin from a 10 in that situation.

Just not good enough. Simple as that. So many crucial errors at key times. Not mixing up the game enough at all.

Murray got away with a dangerous neck roll on VDF when tackling him

This Munster team is so soft in contact it's unbelievable

Season cant end soon enough for Munster and we get a fresh start

Bar the Gloucester away result and Carberry/Berine/Matthewson signings its been mediocre

This is like last week in reverse. Munster 10 points down but haven't the firepower from the bench to impact the game.

Two semi finals? When you look at the strength of the other squads they face in the pro 14 and champions cup that’s about as good as you can expect to be fair

    VDF has been outstanding today.

You don't realise just how good he is until he's returned from injury. We really missed him last week.

VDF MOTM for me. A wonderful player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,748 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

VdF man of the match in his first game back since March, after coming back well before his return date.

    He's not human.

The entire backrow was excellent. Ruddock hit everything and Conan must have run VDF close to MOTM.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,045 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Man of the match in his first game after a three month layoff.

    VdF is incredible.

You'd wonder how much of a difference VDF would've made last week.

On a flip note it's remarkable how frequently inconspicuous POM is in games like this, obligatory lineout steal aside.

Not much imagination in back play from either team today. I reckon another final defeat for Leinster in Glasgow.

Leinster owned the second half. I don't know where they get the energy from to do such a thing.

Would've given Ryan or Conan motm myself but VdF a worthy winner.
