All 8 seasons of it. Actually how many hrs in total? Anybody know?

If you take each episode as 1 hour average (as some season finales and this last season go over the hour and most earlier episodes are 50-60 minutes), there'd be 73 episodes so 73 hours approx.

I've seen 80 hours bandied about. Not far off that.

Some amount of telly to watch only to be pi$$ed off by the end of it. Suppose there could be worse wastes of time.

You know the bolded piece how?

    https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/game-of-thrones-the-bells-reviews-episode-tanks-with-series-lowest-tomatometer-score/
    https://www.metacritic.com/tv/game-of-thrones/season-8/episode-5-game-of-thrones-72

As for the subplot being pointless... How? Surely it meant Arya didn't die by continuing with the Hound to intercept Cersei and her posse? So the Hound saved Arya from dieing and Arya left the Hound to die again like she told him she would. Arya also ended up hating Danaerys due to what she witnessed in the streets of KL.

I saw no reason to believe that Arya was in any more peril by killing Cersei than she would be by not doing so. The only danger was posed to her by going to the Red Keep during a siege in the first place. Not killing Cersei as some personal redemption thing because the Hound tells her not to rang pretty hollow. Even had she caught a glimpse of Cersei and saw a scared, powerless woman who was about to die, and thought to herself that she wasn't worth it, that would have at least have some meaning. The Hound telling her something that she already knew, after she traveled weeks with no other purpose than to kill Cersei, is just nonsense.

Not uncommon to find endings unpopular. Dexter and BSG are two examples which caused a lot of annoyance.

    Nit picking.

The size of opinions captured by those sources is embarrassing for your case. Likely watched by over 100 million people and that metacritic doesn't even have 300 people who gave it a negative review.

Great support for your 'most people' claim...

Every ship in the Iron Fleet has that emblazoned on their sails in the show.

Yes, which is a Kraken. Sea creature.. Jokes gone now that I've had to explain it.

Also people don't react online to positive news stories - focus on the internet is around negative stuff - hence the advertising focused google fb etc. algorithms add to the online echo chamber because the bulk of the interaction is negative based. Add to that - Rotten Tomatoes have probably no problem knocking a HBO based show.

I mean what else is one to do? A conglomeration of reviews, both critic and user alike, is the most objective way to gain insight. You have no evidence whatsoever to back up your assertion.

Everyone loved Godfather Part 3, any evidence that you present saying otherwise will be unrepresentative, hur dur dur.

And yet look at the reviews for past episodes and that is anything but the case. Or maybe that was an echo chamber in the other direction, I don't know.

It is pretty easy. Maybe, like myself, avoid making claims that 'most people' agree with your opinion when you have no objective way of proving it.

I think we're in agreement that the last season has been poorer overall. But I'm not convinced it's totally down to the writing. The smallish drop in quality has blindsided the internet and there is a frenzy going on with the petition etc. That's just the nature of the internet. The internet isn't the source of truth.

To be fair to these threads on Boards there does seem to be a least some level discussion compared to reddit and other forums on this topic.

Watched the episode there, really enjoyable.

Although disappointed Cersei and Daenerys never had a proper stare down. Was looking forward to the confrontation all episode

This link from last year pretty much spoils the whole of season 8 - not much else has happened other than the 2 events listed here

    61. About more 5 of those I could have gotten right if I'd take more time and read the question right.

What title could Dany add to her bow now after her conquest of King's Landing? I was thinking something flashy like the Immolater of Innocents.
