Decent filter machine

I've recently rediscovered and grown to appreciate filter coffee, the first type of coffee I loved and find myself now returning to it after espresso machines ( Gaggia, De Longhi), moka pots, cafetieres and pod machines.

So does anyone have a recommendation for a good coffee filter machine?

I think to make great filter coffee you invest in a decent grinder, and then get something like a V60, Chemex or Kalita Wave, maybe a pouring kettle along with a set of scales. You don't need a machine as such.

I use a Vario grinder thats now 10 years old and a Kalita Wave.

Again I'd say you don't need a machine, and all filter "systems" are basically the same. Spend money of a good grinder and good coffee, later, if you want, upgrade the filter pot as mentioned above.

Yeah......Gaggia Classic user for a few years now. Used it with a Rancilio Rocky grinder but upgraded it to a stepless Compak K3 grinder, more control of grinds (believe it or not, at first I didn't

)

Also a Kalita Wave user and......I find a much cleaner cup of coffee from a pour over filter cup of coffee. Better than the Gaggia.

I would suggest a decent grinder be you first buy. After that any of the pour over brewers make fantastic coffees. Personally I find myself switching between a Kalita and a Chemix. I've not ventured down the road of filter machines as I'm normally only brew for myself so I reckon a machine would be a bit excessive. The grinder I use is Wilfa Svart which can be picked up for about 130. Highly recommended.
