Car mechanic advice

    In a nutshell: Spent €240 about 2 months on my car. Car was going into limp mode and showing a power train light. Left it for a week at mechanic. This guy specializes in diagnostics. Seems like a smart and genuine guy, albeit a bit flakey and hard to get a hold of...

    Anyways, he replaced the turbo sensor(possibly something else aswell) and put in a new spring in the front wheel( separate issue) and all was good until a few days ago. The exact same thing has started to happen. What's my position here? If he tries to charge me again,do I protest? Would he essentially be charging me double for an issue that was never really resolved?

    Maybe it’s a different fault. Why not wait and see what the problem is this time.

    Lots of things can cause a car to go into limp mode.

    What make and model is the car?

    So the issue was resolved for 2 months? He’d be well within his rights to charge you, what if it’s a faulty sensor? You wouldn’t expect him to charge for his time replacing it?

    my old Skoda fabia used to enter limp mode if a brake bulb blew
