Seems like Good value for a run around or am I missing something?

The bonnet on that corolla looks to be off and it changed hands on the 29th of March. With four cars on sale and what looks like a garage set up in his other ads, I would be wary that it is priced correctly, rather than a bargain.

Is there any way to tell if that has gone over 100k miles? since the odometer is 5 digits only?

Extra 100000 will definitely show in the interior.

That's a great find. Small money for a nice well cared for reliable car.
    Looks mint.

Little help please, the girlfriend has an interest in this Astra. Is there anything to look out for?

No NCT. I would be questioning why it has been prepared for NCT but not put through?

Apparently booked in for the NCT next week.

Those Astra petrol engines are very fragile and not known for their reliability. I know it's a cheap car but I'd be looking at something else.

No need to book for a visual you can just drive to the centre and get the cert. Look for something else is my advice. Those Astra's can be ropey enough.

    Exactly this.
Seems odd if they told him it's booked in for this week again, although maybe they just mean they have to get back in to the centre and get the visual done and pick up cert

If that Astra has an ecotech engine which I reckon it does then forget about it, it’s at its max mileage now. It’s head gasket is probably blown. By all means for have a look at it but I wouldn’t touch an Opel with one of those engines ever again. They just chew themselves up overtime and poof!

I dont see a 'St Christopher' stuck on the dash :D

IIRC you have to have very small feet to avoid working two pedals at once on that yoke.

    Lads, what's a better car, 1.6 petrol or 1.8 tdci Mondeo, 2008

The wet timing belt difficulty with the 1.8 tdci of that vintage makes the 1.6 petrol potentially a safer buy.

Theyve been known to break and even if the car is running okay now - it's a big enough (expensive) job to do.

The 2.0 TDCI would be better then either though ideally

I’m sure I took that car as a trade in around 15 years ago. Had tiny mileage then.

2008 1.8 may or may not have a wet belt. Could just be a chain.
