Im sure Apple, Facebook and all the platforms are delighted that its always Alex Jones name that is mentioned first when people write about people having there platform taken away ,

He is such a lunatic and talks such nonsens people don't bother reading the rest of the story ,but there are others who are far more relevant and intelligent who have been taken off and people don't realise because they stop reading after they see Alex Jones's name ,

Yeah but that is different because infowars is a private company and they should be able to say who can post on their website and the likes of FB, YT et al are private comp... oh right, i see what you mean.

Mr Watson himself seems undecided on the matter.

    Govt regulation bad!

    Govt regulation necessary!

It's worth reading his profile on Rationalwiki. As I said, it sure beats having a day job.

Yes it is. When you have rules against hate speech, and you allow his sh1t you are saying it is not hate speech, that it is valid discourse.

Hate speech, misogynist, virtue-signalling.... can we just stop with these bullsh!t labels which have imported from the American media and be ourselves for once.

I am DUMBFOUNDED that you think 'hate speech' is a buzzword created by the 'American Media'.

The Irish Education System has failed so, so many people.

Admittedly, I should probably have used another term, but it's early and this is an internet forum so I don't really care.

Anyway, all I know is that I know nothing.

My gut feeling is; you have yet to attain this level of enlightenment.

Have a good day you condescending d!ckhead.

Are you saying it's inaccurate in relation to what Jones does?

Its the principle as I'm sure you know. If you don't think the day will soon come where you're banned for criticising some Govt policy or other then you're very naive.

But you’re ok with Infowars terms of service that has the same thing? Or are you one of those people who take him seriously?

I don't know why people that are so eager for others to be banned don't consider that their views may one day put them under the microscope.

Most of us are harmless, despite how edgy we think ourselves, so little danger of that unless you're into tinfoil hats!

Infowars is not a social media company, in the same way that RTE isn't.

You can play with semantics all you like..until the day comes where you are banned or 'unpersoned' for expressing an opinion. Then you might wake up.

Infowars is different alright. So it’s censorship for me but not for thee.

The difference between Jones and someone with a political opinion is that Jones was deliberately spreading lies about real people that got them harassed by his thick followers. He is currently being sued for this.

If I did that on boards I'd be rightly banned.

That's all this is. It's a gobshíte being banned off a social media platform for being a díck. It's not some Orwellian censorship no matter how much Jones, his followers and the permanently gullible would like to spin it that way.

The exact opposite of North Korea. NK is the government telling people what they can and can't say. In the capitalist society the likes of facebook and twitter banning hate speech because it's bad for their bottom line. If you want government intervention to private companies like Twitter, telling them what they have to delete or not delete, then you got a situation like NK.

The irony is people like PJW want less government intervention. But like most conservatives, they want more rights for people like them, less rights for everyone else. When things don't go their way they toys are thrown out of their pram.

Another host of people removed from Facebook and Instagram all at once. Paul Joseph Watson being amongst them. PJW reports of facts and has never incited any hate/violence. But rest be assured you’ll still have people in here celebrating this mass censorship.

    Yeah, no.

PJW has made a career, much like Alex Jones, of distorting truths and facts to further push his own views and sell products.

Funnily enough, many years ago I did actually like a few things he had to say, but when you compare this to the absolute lies and nonsense he has already spread you really see what kind of person he is. Hell, they even altered his set for Youtube to give it a more "independant" and "home-made" feel to it.

Keep in mind that Infowars is a business. It's a tool that Alex Jones and others have used to make money and in some cases get crazy rich. By all means, be sceptical of mainstream media, but you should absolutely not trust PJW or InfoWars, just because they happen to say some things you agree with.

He was banned for his political opinions thats the difference

Expressing an opinion doesn't seem to be a problem. The likes of Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro aren't at risk of being booted off because they aren't slandering people on the platforms that they use.

Facebook has every right to ban those who use their platform to harass the parents of children killed in a mass shooting.

Lets not forget here that the far-left anti-semite, Louis Farrakhan was also booted off so it's not like this banning was exclusive to the right-wing cnuts.

RTE and much of the Irish media have spent the last two years telling us that Donald Trump colluded with Russia..which turned out to be completely false and and outright lies.

Should they be banned from Facebook too?

RTE is unbelievably biased in both their Brexit coverage and also coverage of Donald Trump.

I like how you instantly believe I support PJW or Alex Jones being banned from Facebook based on my last post, about something else entirely while -also- ignoring my comments on mainstream media.

    Well done.

When did they say that? They reported that he was being investigated for it, which he was, but I don't recall RTÉ taking the position that Trump colluded with Russia.

That's because it's genuinely difficult to polish turds. Even Brexit and Trump friendly media find it very hard to spin those shítshows as something positive.

How can anyone be biased about the Brexit mess?
