I thought I did, but it turned out to be a terrible, stupid idea. Happens quite often

Believe it or not, I've had - one. A knob for the heavy lid of a cast iron frying pan. It actually works a dream. I'm so proud of it. LOL!

I have an idea to sell Ned Kelly style armour to female American students, since many are convinced there's a 1/5 chance they'll be raped on campus. I'm ashamed to say that the imagery of females sporting Ned Kelly armour during lectures in Harvard is the motivation behind the business, rather than actually preventing rape.

About 30 years ago I went to the local enterprise board, or whatever you called it back then, for funding to develop and patient an idea I had for cars.
I got to the second stage of discussion / interview after producing the schematics and what the benefits would be, only to be told it was an unrealistic idea that would be of no interest to the automotive industry.
Unfortunately at the time I couldn't raise the finances myself to go it alone to get it any further.
    The idea..
Automatic switching on of the headlights on a vehicle once the natural light dropped below a certain level.

I did, but Thomas Edison stole it.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I once drew up schematics for a perpetual motion machine. I could have attempted to build a prototype in Lego but I damn well know that the laws of physics will inevitably ruin my dreams.

They laughed at me the first time I wore jeans with a sports coat. I was the first wealthy man in America to do that. Now they all do it.

Back in the day when you signed up with a dial up ISP you usually got some web hosting space I got the notion of subdividing that web space and giving everyone in school one page to fill with sh!te about themselves.

I didnt bother because I thought anyone who wanted some form of internet presence would just use their own web space instead of using my rather limited one page. Been kicking myself a while over that one

I had an idea one time to develop a suit like an astronaut that you would wear outside in the rain and be fully waterproof.boots stitched onto it, helmet the works.
Got the inspiration one day outside soaking wet.
Never went anywhere with it but it was a superb idea at the time

That's a terrible Jo.. I mean idea. How about this one. Get a metal coat hanger and straighten out the hook. Then get a pencil eraser and stick the now straight hook about 2/3rds into the eraser. Then, if you want to read a book in bed, but would like to keep your arms under the duvet, sit up in the bed and place book securely between the dip in the duvet between your knees and then place the coat hanger on your head with the hook and eraser facing out from the forehead. This enables you to turn the page as required by having the eraser make contact with the paper and making a slight head movement to the left. Your arms stay nice and cosy under the duvet all the while.

Still trying to perfect my own version of the zx spectrum Vega plus campaign:

    Get a venerable brand name.
Start Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign on Facebook.
    Collect deposits from early patrons.
Get a Chinese factory to make 100 of the yokes.
Take photos of it at all angles and post on Facebook crowdfunding page.
Send the 100 manufactured devices out to first 100 lucky patrons
Announce on Facebook page that manufacturing of production units will begin. In actuality do no such thing.
Keep in collecting cash in orders.
When complaints start trickling in on the Facebook page, well, just delete the and keep collecting money.
When complaints become a deluge, shutdown the Facebook page. Withdraw all money from the bank account and close it.
    Get lost completely like supertramp
