From reading the posts on here and from social media etc it appears that no where on land has experienced more than mid level yellow warning wind strengths. Could this be another false alarm? Next 6 hours will tell.

    Gusting to 72kmh in Arklow
Wasn't expecting that this soon here

Beautiful evening now on Galway city, not so much as a hint of a breeze.

Is Kerry gone back to Orange?

Quite windy and very cold here in Co KK but nothing violent about it yet. I think we're due to see the worst after midnight.

As usual it's the West who gets the brunt of these things so stay indoors and stay safe over there :)

In Schull in West Cork right now, it is worse (windier) than the previous storms. No false alarm here. Wifi gone, electricity flickering

You obviously have not been reading the posts carefully enough. False alarm? I think not.

Some serious winds kicking in now (8pm) in Limerick City suburbs.

Wasn't too bad all evening but ramped up suddenly just a few mins ago.

    Second this

My weather station saying 6.8C with a wind chill of 1.9C with an apparent temperature of -1.5C.
Winds are normal for a windy event at the moment, but it is a few hours away.
Highest gust so far at 70km/h
    North east Kilkenny.

    Doubt it
Mobile met sites warning page has cached back to the text issued at 10am
That's a rather grave IT error

East Clare and it's not too bad over here at the moment.... moved everything loose outside into the sheds in anticipation.
    Just tree-watching now

Gusts a few knots lower at 8 pm. I'm still wondering if this hasn't already peaked a few hours earlier out to sea. Still a few hours of Red to go but I would be expecting Shannon and Valentia to.be reporting higher. Ballybunion still max gust 69 kts (128 kph)

Seems to have calmed here in South Kerry. There's a tree down outside the house but can get around it. Few other trees down around locally according to neighbors. Very strong gusts earlier but short-lived. People seemed to have taken note of the red warning as no traffic is out.

Yup, nothing out of the ordinary in Rochestown either. Given the red warning period is over in Kerry, and from posts here and elsewhere, it does look as though the storm is not quite as bad as predicted.

Not a false alarm in Kerry. Red is justified and finished too early.

There are lads out road bowling here near Cork city so it’s not that bad yet.

The red warning ended at 8pm.
The Orange warning continues until 5am.

Schull ? So it's coming this way then ?(cork city way)

Still fine here in East cork.
Windy yes but barely yellow territory right now.
You certainly wouldn't call it anyway stormy as of yet.
Not having a go at Met Eireann by the way, the charts predicted a storm but as of yet it's a standard gale

Red warning for Kerry was only until 8pm, so it would appear to have gone back to Orange.

So can any of the weather experts here tell us if the storm is on land or still off the coast ?
