I’ve a feeling Bran will end up on the iron throne and united the kingdoms

Daenerys will execute one of the remaining main characters, causing a major rift with Jon Snow.

I had thought it would be Tyrion, but now think it may be Sam.

Like Sam got Jon elected as commander of the NW, he will attempt to sway everyone that Jon is the rightful heir. Treason.

No, I can't see Sam dying. Maybe she has him sentenced to death but Jon rescues him. Many people reckon Sam is the chronicler of the war that gets written down as A Song of Ice and Fire.

I reckon Jon will kill Dany.

Bran dies, but Tyrion becomes the next three eyed Raven.
Why else was he asking for a history lesson off Bran?
    [/SPOILER]

I think that was Tyrion trying to go back to his old self in that knowledge is power. The more he knows the more he'll be able to serve as Hand.

The three eyed raven power would be fun for Tyrion he'd go see women anywhere and everywhere taking their clothes off.

I thought it was a great episode, the dialogue was excellent especially the scene with Sansa & Dany.

After her talks with Sansa & Jon Dany knows this is unlikely to play out as expected. I think during the battle Jon will need her help but she'll leave him. Her leadership will be undermined, Jon will survive and make his claim for the throne. I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the season Dany is back in exile like at the start with 1 or 2 companions

Only the Lannisters are making it out of next episode, from the drinking fire crowd. Davos killed defending the crypts, probably defending that young one. Tormund to go out killing an undead giant. Pod to go defending Brienne, and Brienne to go down not leaving him behind.

Theon, defending Bran. Jorah to go, probably defending Lyanna Mormont, thus redeeming himself in the service of his house. Gendry too. Going to be funny when Arya runs into undead Gendry. Royce, minor character as he is, likely to die.

Grey Worm and hopefully yer one are also gonners, but who gives a **** about them.

Agree, I used to fast forward their scenes. I love Davos and Brienne though. I wanted her to end up with Jaime in Casterly Rock.

I think that Arya will either kill a dragon or Danny. Likewise I can see Tyrion turning his back on Danny for Jaime.
Varys remains a big mystery for me but I am expecting a stab in the back from him.
Jorah might put his sword through Jon for the sake of Danny too.
Finally Sansa became very smart in the last few seasons and now she has Bran, Arya and knights of the vale at her side. She doesn't trust Jon as he's in love with Danny but I am sure she's plotting something already and might end up ruling the north/seven kingdoms.

There are so many possibilities and things are about to turn sour after Ep 3.

Id be more likely to think Brienne will go down defending Jaime - he lost his hand for her, she will lose her life for him.

Rickon is the most recent to die so I think he'll be reanimated and that's who we see Arya fleeing from in the crypts.
    The rest, probably not.

I think we'll see Hodor and Summer again too, maybe with Ghost taking on Summer and dying in the process.
Or as people have already said, Nymeria appearing with her massive pack of wolves to attack the wights, I imagine there was some significance of Arya meeting her, or at least I hope there is.

It would be classic GOT to have Jorah face a re-animated Lyanna after she is killed early in the battle.

Even allowing for a lot who think he may end up on the iron throne as Roberts only heir, Gendry is more likely to die now after sleeping with Arya. She could end up pregnant with a Stark / Baratheon child so he isn't needed.

Future episode spoiler dude. Some of us haven't watched the trailers.
I actually got this spoiled on me by Andy Lee on Off the Ball of all places!

That's hardly a spoiler, it was from the trailer before the season even started.
As it turns out, I might be off with the location a tad, with it being all dark and stuff.

Read the first post of the thread. Only episode discussion allowed. Mentioning (future) things seen in a trailer for Season 8 is undoubtedly a spoiler.
It was a quick few seconds of the trailer and I'm taking a stab in the dark as to what's actually happening, hardly spoiler material. For all I know I'm miles off the mark.

Also, I'm not the only one discussing events outside this episode. It tends to happen when everybody has watched it and starts dissecting what happened and what might happen.

Its a quick few seconds that shows
one of the main characters, Arya, alive and running
in a place that seems to be of huge significance this season. Its a spoiler.

Speculation thread is there for discussing what might happen.

Seeing that D&D are trying to do what GRR is incapable of (tying off a million loose threads) I suspect that a lot of those who die will be completing character arcs by doing so.

I suspect some self-sacrifice to occur. Jorah Mormont and Brienne seem best suited to these roles.

I feel that neither Jon nor Jamie can die in the coming battle, but the show will have difficulty having fake-out deaths for either character as it has already done so for both characters (not to mention an actual death for one).

Bran the robot is both expendable as a personality and indispensable as a character. I think he will die, but... not... yet.

    Arya, Sansa, Tyrion, super safe.

Grey Worm or Meissandei will die I'd say. Probably the latter.

    Returning character speculation!

    Salladhor Saan 200-1
    Littlefinger (not dead!) 100-1
    Meera Reed 80-1
    Edmure Tully 50-1
    Jaqen H'ghar 30-1
    Blackfish (not dead!) 25-1
    Melisandre 5-1

If any of these characters return it will be as firm deus ex machina (take my horse Jon, there's no time! )

I wonder if Catlin comes back and we finally get to see Lady Stoneheart from the books... or a version of her. I was very disappointed that she didn't make an appearance in the previous seasons.

What I do think is a certain possibility, is that the Night King will not be at the battle for Winterfell, I suspect he is off on his wight Dragon getting ready to burn down and raise most if not all of Kings Landing. Meanwhile Winterfell is over run by the army of the White Walkers, and the survivors flee, where they join up with those fleeing Kings Landing. They either take refuge in Harrenhall or the Eryie.

I still think that Red Priestess comes to save the day, by holding back the AotD long enough for the survivors to flee Westeros. Leaving it as a domain of eternal winter.

The show and books have a lot of loose threads and character arcs to finish off, my biggest fear is that the rest of the TV show is going to be rushed, and GRRM will just give up on completing the book series, I understand that books of this scope can take a long time to write, but 7 years is quite frankly a joke.

    Returning character speculation!

Daario Naharis and the Second Sons might reappear after the rest of Danis forces have been decimated.

As for dead characters returns, my money is on Stannis.

Lady Stoneheart, with four episodes left? Let it go... Who could have possibly resurrected her?? If she ain't in by now, she ain't in.

Was the Hound pissing in the river when he met the Brotherhood not the sign that they were not going to go with that storyline at all?

    He literally pissed it away.

Beric, like he does in the book.

Although I agree, with 4 episodes left, it's a near certainty that we won't see her.

She may have been entombed in the crypt in Winterfell, with the Others about to attack and summon the dead, there is a chance that we will see a version of her, ok it will be a wight rather than a vengeful return of Catlyn Stark. I can't recall what happened to her body in the show, I think it was eventually found.

    Right.

Ive been thinking about the Night King, and what he wants, and what could stop him.

I think he wants more than just a boring endless night. But I dont know what else.

And the dragon glass killing white walkers is significant. Especially as he was made with dragon glass.

Could it be that removing the dragon glass that was pushed into him would "de-activate" the spell on him. But then that would kill him and all the rest of the army of the dead - or would it - would the other white walkers die if he died?

How could they get that dragon glass out of him? Well they could burn him up with dragon fire. Or they could use something like but smaller than Qyburns scorpion to shoot it through and out of him. Isnt Bronn on the way with a crossbow?

Oh hey Jon Snow! Remembe we met beyond the wall last season? By the way bro I resurrected your dead mother, well, you know what I mean. But yeah she's alive! Sorry I didn't mention it!

I can't see any dead in tombs with heavy statues getting out, and I'm sure Jon has already made sure there are no bodies inside or near Winterfel (from BotB) that can be ressurected.
Not sure if Catlyn's body was ever found in the show.
Ned's body was returned (well the bones were) by the silent sisters when Tyrion took over as Hand for Jofrey. I'd also guess being entombed aside, a corpse needs to be somewhat intact to be resurrected.

On a similiar note, if a wight is killed, can it be ressurected again.
Would the condition it was after being killed matter, eg decapitated and how it was killed eg if it is was with Valayrian steel or dragon glass, they are dead dead?

The Frey's/Bolton's wouldn't have sent her corpse/bones back to Winterfell, which was abandoned at the time. Frey's also wouldn't have sent them to the Bolton's in Winterfell to put in the tombs. After that, they were all dead by the time Winterfell was taken by the Starks.

Btw! Not attacking you and I agree with the end of your original post! People just keep bringing up lady stone heart!

I also really struggle to see how they are going to wrap stuff up. I think we will all be slightly disappointed in the end, simply due to not enough time.
