My guess is they couldn't admit they got it wrong with Ray and bring Brendan back.

Even better if they keep the format the same. Actually, it's really all about the format (hardly any point, otherwise). The idea of Tommy not knowing who the guest will be (with that occasional dumbstruck look on his face when they walk out :D ), plus the fact that he can think on his feet, plus the fact that he'll let a moment happen, plus the fact that he could put his foot in it at any moment, has made for not only some of the best TV RTE has made, but I'd put up there with the best chat shows like Graham Norton or Parkinson.

Great news for all who have been frustrated and exasperated with RTE saturday night entertainment . Tommy Tiernan will be replacing the horrendous Ray D'arcy Show on saturday nights from May 4th . At least if you stay in on saturday nights from now on, it should be for the right reasons. https://extra.ie/2019/04/21/entertainment/movies-tv/tommy-tiernans-primetime-slot

The man is a legend, leave it out.

    Great interview.

Tommy Tiernan in emotional speech telling 60 year old Irish man that he is Irish. Paul McGrath finally has piece of mind and crowd cheer.

McGrath comes across as a humble kind a man with no high opinions of
himself compare to some of the superstar sports stars we have nowadays.

    Just turmed it on.

There's absolutely no need for that kind of talk.

So whose bright idea was it to let a 19 year old girl address the nation prime time tv for people who she is mostly young enough to be their daughter/granddaughter?

Why not have a >31 year old talk about their autism? It's not like people with autism die young. She even says herself she has a lot to learn.

    It's to promote her app.
    May have connections.

Also if people after using the app meet others that don't like eye contact, well that is going to be awkward. One not looking and the other trying to make eye contact.
