The oil could be contaminated. It would be unwise to resell it.

Phone the oil supplier and let them sort it out.

I just can't see how they're going to resolve this.

This is not the worst wrong oil delivery. About half a century ago when I was in high school, a friend of mine had an oil delivery at their house with an address like 101 Main Street in the town. Problem was, it was supposed to go to 101 Main Street in the next town over, and the people at the wrong address had changed their heating source to natural gas a few years previously but the intake valves were still there. So the oil went into their basement and the house was uninhabitable for about a year after that.

Only in America. I don't know how the hell they manage it.

If only we could vote on a solution we could fix both problems.

    As title says.
I was out all day, when I came back there was docket in the door, for oil worth 210€.I was very confused..

Don't fret about it. This is not your fault. I would have been different if you had been there and sneakily accepted delivery in the hope that it would be somehow forgotten. But you were not there and it is the mistake of the delivery people.

Could have been worse, around my area three lads in a Hiace arrive unsolicited and EMPTY the tank.

It actually was me that made that mistake. There was war over it. needless to say I got the sack an I've never sat behind the wheel of an oil lorry sense.

Oh man, I would never have conceived of something like that happening, Tommy. I'm only surprised you didn't feature on Seconds From Disaster! But I work in computers and always comfort myself by saying "If I was a doctor, and made a similarly bad mistake somebody would have died, thank god I'm not a doctor". I don't know how doctors cope with making mistakes, because EVERYBODY makes mistakes.

A few years ago I came home to a receipt for a delivery, all paid up. Didn't recognise the name but it was my address. I rang the company and asked why I had the receipt. They checked with the driver who was adamant he used the side passage and then posted the receipt into the same house. He explained that I could simply pay for it and they'd see if they could track down the customer who had already paid for it. I said I didn't need it as we had switched to gas. So he said that they'd be around to collect it. I told him he couldn't do that either since I didn't even have an oil tank.
Turns out the driver went down our side passage (neighbour had a gate, we didn't), couldn't see a tank so "assumed" that we used the tank over the wall in our neighbour's garden??
I passed the phone over and let them sort it out, especially since the oil type delivered was not the same as what was already in the tank. And it was a small enough delivery on top of a fairly full tank so they had to remove everything, refill the neighbours and provide the original delivery to the original customer. All in all a costly mistake for the company.
