Hopefully right forum but BB related

I have the virgin media hub and have it bridged to a Archer C9

I was looking at installing Pi Hole but don’t want more wires around the modem so was looking at Ad Guard DNS https://adguard.com/en/adguard-dns/overview.html

So just wondering anyone use this and I know all the records are routed through a server I don’t know.

Just tired of looking at ads etc on the non rooted stuff that I have and wondering if anyone has tried this and any issues ie slow speeds, cant access certain websites etc

It's good and there are no speed impacts. In effect, they are way faster than Virgin's and even Google. At least for me.

If you want porn just make sure you use the "Default" rather than the "Family protection" servers.

But remember this simply checks any DNS requests against a list maintained by AdGuard to filter out domain names that serve for ad, tracking and fraud purposes. So you rely on their list being up to date.

So depending on your browser and the sites, you will still see some boxes with error messages about content missing. But it blocks ads reliably on most sites.

I stopped using it and use 1.1.1.1 with a decent ad blocker but for those devices that can't use an ad blocker Adguard is a really simple solution.
