Thats this week sorted with three movies I've wanted to see.

The Ritual is a great horror movie as well. Well recommended.

I've already watched that, it's been on the USA Netflix a while now. It's not a bad movie but goes a bit mental towards the end iirc.

I thought the same garra, was raging when I went looking for it earlier. :(

We're spoilt with Netflix. We don't want to wait a week for something anymore. :D

Finished watching Altered Carbon. Pretty disappointed that something that started so well for the first 4 episodes, became so muddled and incoherent for the second half. Was a slog to finish it, meandering around the place. I would easily say the first few episodes are the best futuristic thing that been produced for TV, just a pity it went the way it did.

Yeah, although I really loved it they definitely brought into too many elements in the end. Funny thing is I read the book years ago, which is also a mixture of good and bad, and
they have basically over-complicated an already complicated plot. A lot of the stuff you see in season 1 doesn't happen in that book or has been changed but I don't think for the better
    .

What's the Jane the Virgin about?

And don't say a virgin called Jane. :D:D:D

It is a telenovella about a virgin called Jane who is accidentally artificially inseminated :p. I like it a lot. I fell in love with the characters. There are lots of heart warming, tear jerking, funny and dramatic moments.

Yeah, it's a telenovela itself but also makes fun of the concept, it's hilarious and addictive. If you try to explain the plot it sounds so ridiculous, but anyway you have a narrator to keep you up to speed. I absolutely love it up until half way through season three (and have rewatched a few times) , then enjoyed it well enough until the end of season 4, then the end of that season left me excited for season 5 again. It's ending at the end of season 5, so really hope they pull off a good ending. I just had hoped I could keep up to date on Netflix.

It's been quite a while since I watched it but I thought it was excellent. One of the best things I've seen on Netflix.

Agree. Excellent stuff, no question. The spilt in the story all comes together again. Is the second series on Netflix? Think I saw all of the second on Amazon after watching the first series on Netflix.

    The second series is great.

There's only one season of Altered Carbon, think you're mixing this up with something else?

Yes, you're right. Thanks. The Expanse. Watched it and Altered Carbon around the same time and switched the names around.

    The Expanse is on Amazon.

There was another series called "Telenovela" (or "Hot and Bothered") with Eva Longoria which had the same sort of vibe/set up, but I'm not sure if it's on Netflix at all.

I watched the highwaymen over the weekend. I like it I have to say. I think both the lead actors did a great job. The ending scene was well done when you read how it actually happened. The last scene with the people around the car seemed to be far fetched but they showed a picture of what looks to be of the event they portrayed in the movie. Very bizarre stuff I have to say.

The Highwaymen. That's the best Netflix movie yet. Would liken it to 1930's version of True Detective, depicting the real life hunt for Bonnie and Clyde.

The portrayal of the dust-bowl depression setting was excellent, with the Hoovertowns, migrant families and the car chase in the field of dust. It reminded me of Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath and explained why people at the time could support Bonnie and Clyde.
