Is it something a kid should learn earlier rather than later?

I'm not sure. I think I always had a sense of life being challenging at times. There isn't one single incident that stands out as telling me "Persepoly this world can be unfair".

When I voted NO to the Lisbon and Nice treaties but they ran the vote again to get the "right" result.

Was diagnosed with Psoriasis at around age 6. I was the only 1 of 6 kids to inherit the condition. 5 elder siblings all dodged that particular bullet.

It is fair. You get out what you put in.

Some have disadvantages that make it more to incredibly difficult to achieve the same result as someone else.

Why would they change it again if they got their way the first time?

When we live in such a mundane world without magic or space travel.

    Childhood ruined!

One of my favourite songs of all time.

To those of us who knew the pain
    Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
    When choosing sides for basketball

    :)

Apologies, the Irish got concessions which addressed the main concerns people had about neutrality, tax and abortion I think.

But to say it was exactly the same is incorrect.

I don't look at life as either fair or unfair.
It's indifferent to what I think or feel.

The "concessions" were BS just look at our neutrality now.

Despite my best efforts, it all amounted to basically nothing.

Lesson learned though, this life is full of harsh lessons when-either you like it or not.

    Life is suffering.
Every philosophy and religion has that at the core
Everyone has disadvantages. Some seen, some unseen, some economical, some medical.
I like the old idea of - treat every single person you meet with a smile and respect because you have no idea what battle they are going through in their personal life.

Too much time is spent on trying to compare and rank each other disadvantages and it just becomes resentful but - comparison is the theft of joy. Best to appreciate that we are ALL silently suffering in some way shape or form and be kind to each other.

When I realised dogs(or cats) don't live as long as us.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.
