Seem to have figured out midfield. Once we found where the space was out wide we've looked a lot more comfortable and they've looked scruffy and hurried.

You'd think Virgil could stand off and get a run and jump at corners, rather than stand wrapped in the keepers arms.

Meed another goal when on top here cause Kane can score at any tine

Some of the passes have been poor choices. Like these corners that are aimed at nobody.

Everyone too relaxed and sloppy in possession

Weve been the better side but we do look fragile at the back

These corners are weird and clearly deliberate. Everyone in 6 yard box and Trent basically shoots from a corner, it's so overcrowded though.

Wijnaldum scored for us vs Spurs on this corner technique in the reverse fixture

Looking for Lloris to fumble one.

If he does the odds of him winning a free kick are high.
Very little cover in front of the defence, Henderson has been AWOL a few times in there.

Very sloppy last 10 mins. Playing in 2nd gear though.

Spurs are there for the taking and we're not doing it, we are very sloppy

Liverpool crowd should be like an extra man, this crowd is like taking off a man. They sit in silence and the moan when move breaks down. This is nothing like the 2013 run it, it's all nerves and no enjoyment.

Maybe if you shout louder at the screen?

The midfield have done nothing, all they do is take the ball from the center backs and pass it out to the fullbacks. They're not supporting the front 3 at all, when Spurs have the ball they get ghosted by. I don't know how many times Spurs played a cutback cross to a completely free Eriksen/Alli/Moura on the edge of the box while the midfield just watched him.

We've needed to build up a bit of momentum this season after having a lay off and the unforced errors and a bit of indecisiveness in the back 4 would suggest that's happening again.

I can only hope that we'll have the smaller share of those kinds of ****ups.

Mane probably should have put that away. Some terrible possession surrendering on the cheap by one or two players. Just need to refocus and get mane in front of goal.

Gini seems to be the only Liverpool midfielder there today.

Klopp likes this midfield, think he needs new glasses.
Please kill this game. Spurs will be a different team in the second half now they changed shape.

Certainly some more fuel for the Alisson hatred that half, he's a lucky keeper I'll give him that.

Gini has been pretty poor himself too mind you spurs midfield terrible

I would give out about captain sideways but his pass to Robertson set up the goal

Playing very carefully against a poor team for some reason. Sure it'll give them confidence.

Would agree, none deserve any praise for that half.
If we're going to keep trying to exploit the space our fullbacks are getting, Fabinho is the best passer of our midfield options and can switch it easier and faster.

Need a second for sure, Spurs won't be as bad in second half, if they upped it even 20% we'd be in trouble. We need to up it ourselves, if we can get the second we'd relax.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,402 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Definitely need a second.

Otherwise we will need to improve defensively. Spurs have got at us without really having to try very hard in the first half.

Looking at the stats we’ve had 5 shots with 4 outside the box. Usually it’s the other way round. I expect more shots inside this half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,634 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Spurs have altered their approach, going to go for it a bit more.
