Rather bizarrely. It looks like he will try ride it out ?

    I still can't see him lasting .

But with brexit and modern click bait . Stories move on quickly .

I find it hard to believe that that this consultancy firm exists .

Can someone bullet point the revealed wrong doings

Made a "loan" of 100k. Actuallt hiding the cash but they cant prove that

They rented a house or 2 for him. Sounds bad but not the worst thing.

    Anything else i missed ?

Pathetic listening to Eamon Dunphy on the Marian Finucane show today downplaying the whole thing. Actual quote:

Also describes Delaney as "a man of vision". You can listen here if you can bear it (scroll down to 'FAI & John Delaney'):

Dunphy has never to my recollection focused his ire on Delaney in all the years he was having pops at various managers.

Very surprised that Dunphy would take that stance, obviously he has some connection if he is defending Delaney in such a manner. It stinks.

It's fairly simple to establish whether or not they actually needed him to loan the money by looking at the accounts.

One gob****e talking to another gob****e who gets an astronomical wage for doing **** all, I'm sure it was a riveting discussion they had.

Maybe he’ll arrive at the meeting with a few kegs of carlsberg hoping they all cheer for him.

Doesn’t matter whether they needed it or not. The CEO shouldn’t be loaning them that money. It completely compromises the association.

Personally, I think there is more to it given the lengths he went to to get an injunction and the fact he’s stepping aside before anything’s been actually proven.

Has it been confirmed that they will not be attending? Thought I heard they just moved the date so the event is after the hearing.

So who’s egging John Delaney when he goes to court that day?

All seriousness, hoping this is the tip of the iceberg. Lots of journalists & TDs like Mark Tighe & Noel Rock who should be commended for their work so far and have publically said they’ll be diving deeper.

Journalists etc back to work tomorrow, I think there will be more to it and more news throughout the week. Why the €100k loan and the injunction from JD right away. Has to be something criminal in this and I hope to fook he gets the book thrown at him.

As a poster mentioned previously, the amount of money absolutely wasted on the cancer likes JD, etc that have starved this country of growing football talent, facilities, etc is probably vast.

I’m a ST holder and going on Tuesday, but what’s the best protest we as fans can do? Has there and will there be anything planned?

Same here. My instinctive reaction to all of this is to demand a refund as I don't want to line the pockets of this corrupt shower. Why should we help pay the rent on Delaney's plush gaff in Wicklow? But if everyone was to look for ST refunds (not that we'd actually get them!) or boycott matches then the players don't get the support they need and I'm very conscious of that. I certainly wouldn't buy any food or drink at the stadium ever again.

We don't know what is anything is done is illegal or improper. Should this €100K loan have been in the accounts that be made available in the AGM?. Or do those things be made available in the accounts? However given Delaney tried to get an injunction and then stepped down from his role as CEO to another role that has all his old duties it must said is what makes this bigger then what it could have been.

That is IF it is these 2 revelations only. As if they were allowed to come out the FAI and the lovers of John Delaney could have just put up a front of nothing to see here the €100K was Delaney been nice and the house was part of his contract and that be that.

No, quite the opposite. He's always been a supporter of Delaney.

It’s improper at best. If the CEO is loaning the association money, how can they hold him to account properly? They’re completely compromised.

I can’t get my head around the fact that an organisation turning over 50mill a year and that made a net profit of 5 mill between 2016 and 2017 needs a 100k bridging loan and the only place they can get it is from their CEO.

It’s extremely naive at best but given the carry on since it came to light, there is little doubt in my mind that Delaney has done something unethical.

Noel rock said he wouldn't be attending and felt it was inappropriate. He expect the same from the other committee members.

The loan was needed because it was around the time denis stopped paying 70% of martin and roy wages. This was also the time, martin and Roy got the big pay rise.

Not sure why they couldn't get the loan from a bank though.

The loan was a good 7 or 8 months before MONROY got their new contract and DOB stopped funding them which is all the more baffling that they were still given big contracts even though the FAI are meant to be strapped for cash and "borrowing" money from an employee.

Evening John, I particularly liked the jacket you were wearing at the game Saturday? Could you let me know where you purchased it?

I find it interesting that the journo that broke this doesn't have a sport background. Doesn't reflect well on sports journalists in this country IMHO. JD has been doing what JD does for years, and apart from some opinion pieces belly aching about him over the years, has anyone tried to dig into his dealings like this before? Was Tighe the first person who this story was leaked to? Did journos with contacts not smell out a rat or this story before now? Stinks really.
