Backup router for BB connection

Hi, I have am trying to get my NETGEAR N600 ADSL2+ modem router to work with my eir BB but have been unsuccessful. Can you tell me if this ADSL2+ modem will work as a backup/replacement for my eir F1000 modem? Thanks,

Is your connection ADSL2+ or VDSL? If it's VDSL you will need a router that supports VDSL.
