Looks like better potential for snow to resume in north Connacht and west Ulster from heavy convective showers, elsewhere likely to be confined to higher elevations before partial clearing. I would expect some heavy snow reports from observers at higher elevations in Connacht later this morning. 516 dm thickness will be on land for a while. Rather marginal uppers but the rates from convective showers should make the difference.

Rain at all stations around the country so far, except for Glennane (161 m, near Newry), which started reporting snow at 6 am (temp 0.7, dewpoint-0.1). Everywhere is 1-2 degrees the wrong side of marginal.

Glennane back to rain shower at 7 am, temp 1.1, dewpoint 0.2.

Snowline around 600m on the south-east side of the Galtees. Almost dropping lower as I speak, the westerly wind bringing in some showers right now.

Heading up to Athlone now, returning early evening so expecting to see some white stuff on the roads today!

Was driving Galway to Meath last Sunday with two kids in that weather.
Very glad not driving this weekend going by today's forecast but nothing yet in Meath.
It's very windy & cold. Local Spring half marathon today. Glad didn't sign up.
    No precip at the moment.

Nada here too. Nothing surprising really. Even the higher parts of Kildare have nothing.

Last week it was under cooked. Weather forecasting for these events is pretty much nowcasting.

It's like a ref making a bAd decision for one team in the first half and making a bad decision he knows is bad in favour of the other team in the second half to balance it
