    heavy sleety rain at Dunshaughlin, wouldn't take much more than a 1 or 2 degree drop for this to fall as snow.

    My prediction is fairly widespread falling snow but very little sticking. BUT considering most of us spend half our lives chasing snow I think it will be notable for some!

    No snow in west Cork last Sunday and I very much doubt there will be any this weekend either. Very rainy tonight.

    The 11pm TAF's seem to indicate possible sporadic snow showers during the day tomorrow.

    On the TAFS, Rain Snow = Sleet and Snow Rain = wet snow?

    No,

    RASN= More rain than snow
    SNRA= More snow than rain

    The difference between them can be small, and often in Ireland it just says RASN for all levels of sleet. I rarely see SNRA, but it's getting more popular.

    It's warmed up a little here. Light, persistent rain. Calm.

    South Sligo
    90m asl

    (the thunder and hail last night was epic - is the yellow warning a day out?)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,064 ✭✭✭sicknotexi

    Last Saturday night there was a real coldness to the air, don't feel that tonight. Will be surprised if snow falls overnight.

    Temp is rising here in Cork City over the last two hours. Airport went from 5 degrees, to 6 and now 7. Thought last week it dropped by 5 degrees within half an hour when the wind changed.
