Regional road infill works sub par.

    Hey guys.

    There was some works done on a regional road just into the local town. It's a very busy route but some utility works were done over last 4 weeks.

    To say the cover job done was sub par would be understatement. The tarmac is already sagging after a week and there is no tar at the joints at all. This road was only resurfaced a year ago and now in ****e again


    Where do you send a complaint for this ? Who to contact. It needs remediation before it gets worse.

    Just contact the councils area office for that region. The contractor would have to have got a road opening license so they will know who the contractor is and be able to get them to fix it

    More than likely that they’ve just completed temporary works and a separate crew will arrive at a later stage to complete permanent works.

    Post it on fixmystreet with some photos. Typically when I do this it's fixed the following week.

    I generally would have thought this. But judging on how these lads handled the road closure with the traffic lights. The setup was laurel and hardy. Red light one end and racing up the wrong side of the road the other side with the other lights to setup and no flag men.

    Solid performers

    There can often be a stipulated settling period between the work and the permanent reinstatement to allow for further compaction of the trench. This can be 6 months or greater. Having said that, the contractor is still (almost certainly) responsible for the condition of the temporary reinstatement.


    Would still be worth reporting it per the above posts.
