    How do you have yours?

Personally, not too thick and not too thin. Then sugar and lemon.

Without fail the first one I make turns out crap and is given to the dogs. After that, they’re perfect. I never measure the ingredients either just go by consistency.

Thick, covered in sugar and lemon juice. Now why does that sound dirty? :P

Alternatively slipping a kinder bar in there is heaven *drools*

Thin or medium thickness with just sugar

    Or nutella and chopped walnuts!

Thin, with Nutella and strawberries for my first first choice, then lemon and sugar. If I get them in a cafe it's always with maple syrup and bacon.

I don't bother. I mean they're not great, are they? We wouldn't just have them once a year if they were all that.

I'm gonna have talk in generalisations here because sure individuals will break the following.

Today you'll hear people gushing on about them, buying up all the ingredients for them etc etc. The majority of these people will not touch one until next year after today. If they were all that, it'd be a standard staple.

I flip, I don't toss, tossing is for amatuers and bedrooms.

Yeah, BB. You need to post a video so we can decide if you’re a flipper or tosser.

Pancakes are at minimum bi-weekly on the weekend in my house... weekly if feeling in a good mood as its great as a treat post GAA or Football for the kids.

Hard to beat the traditional lemon and caster sugar. But orange juice is very nice too.

Also, grand with rashers. A whole meal of pancakes.

PS I think Nutella is too smooth, bland and sweet to make a good foil for pancakes. A bit of contrast rocks my world.

Is today Shrove Tuesday? I've heard hardly anything about it this year.

Always thought it was in February.

Not sure if I have the energy to shrive today. Where does good pancakes in the city centre?

It’s the day before the start of lent which is 40 days before Easter. The earliest I remember is feb 12th or so.

It is. I have never worked out (cos I’ve never bothered to find out) why Easter isn’t on the same date every year.

Shrove Tuesday is meant to be the day that you get rid of food ready for fasting for lent. If I were to make a pancake filling with the contents of my fridge I would have -

    Babybell
    Sun dried tomatoes
    Ham
    Beetroot

First they came for the socialists...

Home made pancakes (non of the pre-mixed / pre-made sh1te) with good quality chocolate and strawberries. Or just plain old lemon and sugar.

"We" don't just have them once a year though, they're a regular enough weekend breakfast for "us"

First one is always sacrificial - it always has a faint taste of onions in my house, so the crows get it!

After that it's thick, blackcurrant jam (and only blackcurrant - no exceptions) and jif lemon, piled high enough to guarantee stomach cramps - fúck it, it's worth it, they won't kill you!
