It looks horrific, Id honestly rather play the original couple in a PSX emulator, at least then you'd have the nostalgia factor. Apparently a lot of the moves just arent repeatable with the touchscreen controls, identical movements producing different results all the time, people who got bluetooth controllers working with it confirming the same thing.

I'm a sucker for a good Match 3 game, but good ones are hard to find.
They either get too hard (requiring you to use boosts) or they get samey and don't mix it up enough.

I think Raspberry Jam is one of the best I've played in a while. I'm up to level 160 and I'm still playing. It has the usual IAPs but you can ignore them all.
It has a nice multiplier mechanic that makes it very strategic.
There is also good incentive to 3 star all levels (which I have done on every level so far).
Worth a look if you like these kinds of games.

I got to 260 this morning (which is a balloon gate). I'm going back to get 3 stars on the last batch of levels.

No new obstacles for the last 60-80 levels though. I hope they haven't run out of ideas.

Been using Nova Prime to mimic my Pixel 2 basically on a couple of phones since it. It did what I wanted it to but I never really liked the interface and it was glitchy on some phones (P20 pro especially).

    Found this earlier:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.whatau.cpl

Works a treat, plenty customisable and working a treat on my 6t.

    Hi All,

I've been searching but there's 72 pages on this thread now and God knows how many on the original thread.

Could you good people please link me to a thread or post (or even 3rd party site) that has a table or summary of the core 'must have' apps and games worth installing?

Have just got a new Note 9 and am really enthusiastic all over again - Setting everything up the way it should be and want some really cool new apps and games.

    Thanks for the help.

Don't think anyone is going to hand in hand help you through apps and games, everybody has there own preferences for favorite apps and games.

Trying googling for websites listing best apps and games for 2019.

Also search these reddit subs for lists.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/androidapps/
    https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/

For example a priority app for me is TiBu, needs root, are you rooted?

For some reason threads like that aren't allowed here. Really though, whatever you are used to will be best, good new apps are few and far between these days. It's all ad-riddled games or ripoffs of existing apps.

I considered answering this... but gave up. The apps I use more regularly are either product specific like my home automation, health specific attached to particular products or transport specific, meeting my needs... Nothing is 'go to' but everything I use is the best I can find for my purposes...

    Here's one

Google photos and make sure its setup right, as in not killed in background or battery optimization

So then guaranteed any and all pictures/videos are backed up if you forget/dont bother to move/copy to pc or the phone is lost/stolen etc for free

This is where it gets complicated. I have a camera on my phone that means I don't need a scanner app. I use the built in Google file manager which works great and the Google calendar on my phone... No need for a third party app from someone I don't know.

Scanner app is not a camera app. It converts to PDF documents and lines the page up etc.
Some have OCR too, but I just like tinyscanner. It has helped me numerous times with documents.

Files by Google is not on every phone, in fact it's relatively new. I still prefer Solid explorer as it has a lot more depth with browsing etc. FBG only does very basic stuff, which is fine if that's what you want.

I personally don't like google calendar at all, so that one is a personal preference, but they all are really which is why i said "a file manager, a scanner and a reminder app", but linked to the ones that I use. Many prefer Rembo.

That's exactly my point... Horses for courses. There is no defacto list of must have apps. We all have different needs

Years ago you had to search for an app to do various things and very frequently an exciting new app would arrive that did something nobody had thought of before.

As Android has matured Google has basically integrated every useful feature into their own apps.

Yes, I had that for a while but wasn't mad about it. Might have to go back to it if there's nothing better.

There was an article a few years ago that was mainly about each android update and that google locks another app down with the goal of securing everything like iOS. I think it was around Android 4. I think the article touched off the pros and cons, but it is something they were always doing. It's just that often 3rd party apps are better or the user may have been using them longer and are used to them.
It is also possible to remove the google apps that aren't wanted or needed and replace them with the preferred or better ones, so there are still plenty of apps that fall into the must have category.
