When someone wants to leave a table and they pretend to offer their seat

    Has anyone come across this? Happened to me recently. I entered the seating area and this fella I barely knew says "oh here John, sorry, sit down sit down" like as if I was royalty. I sat down and then the fellas at the table told how he didn't like them and just used me as an excuse to leave.

    I have to say in my 75 years on this earth, and being in social situations very regularly through those years, I have never come across this.

    Does anyone just fake a heart-attack and slide off the seat anymore? You can scamper away under the tables and be sitting at the bar supping a cold one with the other escapees (you know, Scrounger, Forger, Cooler King and Big X) in jig-time. :cool:
