Cheap Chinese knockoff kit unfortunately. Such a shame. Probably a lovely car underneath though.

Aungier Street this afternoon (appropriately enough parked outside an antiques shop).

That's one neglected W116, and an early one too.
    Great cars, especially the V8s.

The Citroen DS reminds us that the idea of having the roof a different colour from the body is around a little while now. And it could be subtle enough, blending in easily.

The roof on those was fibreglass - so you could say they were also ahead of the curve on having fancy carbon fibre roofs too....

I’ve spotted that van around Baldoyle the past week and each time couldn’t get a picture of it. Great condition!

    Looks like an everyday Heinkel.
A friend of mine had one and he used to carry his Springer Spaniel around on the footplate.
He'd be peeping out around the fairing ears blowing in the wind - happy memories!

There is a surprising number of Heinkels in use locally - and they don’t all belong to the same person. There’s this and two others that spring immediately to mind.

Have seen this many times (not the Avensis or white goods rubbish in front!) but the first time I have a still of it. Looks to be daily driven, what a champion

Were these air suspension? Even allowing for the camber it's well down on the left side.

No, the w123 had coil springs all round.
Broken coil perhaps, or terminal rust!

But how do you get to keep a UK regged car in Ireland for 18 years still on UK reg??

Classic Insurance through FBD, and a measure of luck, if you intend driving it.
A UK drivers licence a great help as well.

Why couldn't you keep a UK car in storage?
Could be SORN'ed in the UK, or have a "Cert. of permanent export".

Presumably having had 2k spent on it 10 years ago, its been on the road here.

Its not a car that should be in a shed, it should be on the road.

    Nice.
