Tape to protect Carbon Frame

Afternoon,

I have recently received a perfect new bike with a lovely carbon frame in mat black. I am delighted with the bike, however my problem is that I need to put mudguards on so that I can take part in club spins. I use the SKS raceguards for this and they are easy to clip on. My issue is that I don't want the attachment points to mark the frame. I was thinking of using standard insulation tape to cover the frame however is there a better option. I don't want anything to cover too much of the frame, just the connecting points.but most importantly no marks or residue on the frame.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I cut up sections of old inner tube and wrap the frame with this at the points the mudguards attach.

For the forks, there's no need to cut the tube as such, just slide a section up from the end of the fork. For the rear, you'll have to cut it.

OP - SKS race blades are a much better option and they are attached on the skewer rather than the frame.

I have thru axel fittings , not sure if they will fit. Time for a bit of research.

It comes in clear, black, or carbon colour. I know you said no residue, but if you fit it properly, should be okay.
I think I might have some of these somewhere, if you are Dublin based, you're welcome to try it out.
