Torn between Salah, Auba and Sane

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Salah or Kun

Looks like Kun if Jesus isn't available.
Think I've been burnt by Aguero no-shows vs WHAM before though.

    Vardy party is hugely tempting

I wasn't wrong, 4 no shows and 1 not in squad in the last 5 PL games vs them. (Hasn't scored or assisted since Jan 2016)

    Aguero, more than likely.

I doubt that Aguero is losing any sleep over that stat. It's not like West Ham are rock solid at the back.

Aguero mightn't lose sleep but I will ;)

I won't be reading into it too much but it does throw Sterling into the mix for me. 3 goals & 6 assists for him in his last 5 against them... maybe I will read too much into it.

Jesus was marked as only doubtful for the weekend so with Aguero having done 120 mins with another game at the weekend, that’s a situation I wouldn’t touch with a bargepole unless Pep actually says he’s unlikely in a pre-match presser.

Probably just on a Salah auto-captain.

Sterling played 120 min yesterday, highly likely to be benched.

The idea of either lad playing 300 mins is highly improbable from Sunday to Saturday. If Jesus can’t do minutes expect Sterling and Aguero to potentially split them up front.

Not even Pep can bench them all.

Title race in full flow, I expect Sane, Aguero, Sterling to start up top on Wednesday myself, with rotation coming in behind. (Forced due to injuries to Fernandinho & Laporte).

If Jesus is fit then I would worry about Aguero but if he's not fit for the bench on Sunday then I'm not sure he'll start. Saying that, I haven't a clue what was wrong with him.

I'd expect to see Sane and Mahrez start out wide, with one of Jesus, Aguero or Sterling up front.

Kun for me. A different animal at The Ethiad. Another Hattie would be nice

Chancing auba at home to Bournemouth. He has to start doesn't he.

Stunned if he doesn't start. Its the one silver lining for those who were burnt on him yesterday.

I have Salah Kun Vardy Jimenez all looking like good options! I’m torn

Going with hopefully the 'safest bet' of a guranteed starter and the pole majority.
    Salah (c) PEA (VC)
Would love to captain PEA or Aguero but can't risk it.

    Jiminez

    Pea

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭ScummyMan

I'm shocked at how low Vardy is in the polls. He's proven already to have a new manager bounce, and playing a Brighton team that shipped 3 goals to Burnley last week?

Especially with doubts over other major options
    - will Aguero start?
    - Salah in poor form, and without Firmino

If I had PEA I'd probably captain him, but without him I'm probably on Vardy

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Vardy is too much of a risk, if you have him you already have a great differential. You’ll as well off to hedge your bets with Auba or Salah

FWIW FFS did a captaincy pod, Salah has 6 goals v Watford in three games, 10% of all his points and the highest single GW total ever

Jiminez is a pretty safe bet when you look back at the 7 previous obvious captain options vs Huddersfield. None of them have blanked with only Aguero disappointing with 5 only points (i'm ignoring Cardiff cos nobody would captain any of them)!

    lost 2-0 NEW Rondon 12 points|
lost 2-1 ARS Lacazette 9 points (Aubameyang didnt play)
    lost 5-0 CHE Higuain 13 points/Hazard 15 points
lost 1-0 EVE Richarlison 8 points
    lost 3-0 MCI Sane 12 points/Sterling 10 points/Aguero 5 points
    drew 0-0 CAR
    lost 2-1 BUR Woods 5 points/Barnes 7 points
lost 1-0 FUL Mitrovic 7 points

i don't like Jimenez as a captain. Wolves are very functional and have shown all season how awful they are at breaking teams down.

in saying this, I know it's Huddersfield. but don't be surprised if it's 1-0.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,131 ✭✭✭✭km79

    Decision made
One lad In form and team in form
One lad not and team stuttering without key attacker

Yea the thing that puts me off is Wolves lost 2-0 at home to Huddersfield earlier in the season and never rack up the goals even when they do win. I'd fancy him to get 1 goal so still think he's a solid pick.
