Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's be far more humane than the zoo. Where they aren't in a temperature controlled environment

Is nature a tempetature controlled environment? Would ypu like to be forved to spend your entire life in an air-conned building?

Do you think that people living in the apartments behind the site wrould have liked the noise and the smell???

I though there were other uses for that building anyway.

Well the zoo in summer (where they are outside) isn't conditions for penguins I'd have thought.

But with the aquarium there it would have been a good addition.
You hope those environmental factors would have been addressed if not then they are right not to allow it

The old tourist office looks awful, this would have given a footfall boost to an area that IMO could do with more amenities.

I'm sure the presence of aquatic birds in the area will cause many, many pearls to be clutched.

Can we all just get a penguin each to adopt and they can have play dates and stuff?

    A penguinarium is a vivarium.

Kidnapping them from the south atlantic to gawk at them for private profit, so to speak

I'd imagine most captive penguins these days are bred in captivity and not kidnapped from the southern hemisphere, no matter which ocean...

Zoos are outdated Victorian "attractions".......get rid of, along with those appalling "SeaWorld" abominations. A one minute attention span for snotty nosed kids with ice cream drooling down their mouths looking at a tiger in a crap enclosure is poor fare for an animal that should be roaming through a far east jungle. Look at the ridiculous nonsense of a troupe of wallabies on Lambay island in Dublin Bay..at least they are in an open location but how far removed is that landscape and weather compared to where they originate from? Why not make and effort and get into the fresh air with a pair of binoculars and look at indigenous wildlife. Afterwards, the tea & sandwiches will also taste far nicer.

Let's keep this on the topic of the local penguinarium only.
