    Hi Folks,

OH has a a large enough chunk of Swedish Krona that she is planning to transfer to her Irish account in the next few months to help with mortgage application process.

Our knowledge is very limited. I see Euro is at it's strongest point v SEK for a while, would it be advisable to wait until post-brexit on the off chance the Euro weakens vs SEK or is there very little correlation? If it did return to a 2016 level there would be a considerable difference.

Also, would people advise going through banks to make the transfer or Revolut or similar?

    Thanks.

    Hi Naive,

Unfortunately people can only give you their best guesstimates about the EUR/SEK market as nobody can exactly say where it will bee tomorrow or a years time. Plus, most people on here are just avatars and could be talking nonsense.

Bring it over in Revolut as bank transfer is extortionate and will cost you a lot.

Take it over either in one chunk or many and don't look to try and negotiate the currency markets, will just stress yourself out too much. Be happy that you can beat the charges, commission etc. by using Revolut, as you will already be winning.

    Thanks,

    PHG

TransferWise have a fee calculator on their site, and in general offer a very good service. Worth checking out.
