People are paying for her hosing, social welfare, etc and they wonder is the system being abused and could money be spent else where.
That's for DCC to ascertain, and so far, they seem to have deemed her to be in need of social housing. As Luke Kelly said --

But these are more enlightened days
No room for all these savage ways
    Leave and let them go
Now every man may walk his road in peace

Yes and users can discuss if they agree with the decision or disagree with it and how they feel about it. It is a discussions forum after all.

Almost nobody (here or in the real world) who describes themselves as an employer, would hire a member of the travelling community.

The unempolyment problem doesn't just work one-way.

    Why would you not?

This thread is the most pathetic thing I've ever seen on this website.

You idiots deliberating whether this woman was raised by her aunt or by her grand-parents, and how her mother came to have 100k. Apply that question to your own families, and ask yourselves if it should be anyone else's business?

It's creepy, it's weird; you are creepy, you are weird. Here's a suggestion: behave like adults.
Deary fcucking me!!! What a load of slavering, pathetic, drivel.

Roughly translated as, “I don’t like a discussion forum being used to discuss the wanton, brazen antics of a criminal leech using the media to wring a free lifestyle out of taxpayers. Desist immediately from discussing the things I don’t want you to or I’m going to call you more names!!”

    Get off the fcuking stage!

Bernard follows up on yesterday’s post. He has posted a long waffling video to describe how he has been excluded from an upcoming traveller conference.

    https://www.facebook.com/100007227857780/posts/2242864719297768?sfns=1

    Slightly more literate today.
People in the comments are advising him to contact a traveller mediation group.

He wants to speak at the conference. They won't let him speak at it as they have speakers already.

He wanted to record it. They don't want him to record it as he's not setup to handle data regulations so they hired a 'settled' company.

How is this exclusion? You can't just approach any conference and demand to speak at or record it.

It's Bernard against the world. No-one realises his huge intelligence except himself. His 180 subscribers will be so disappointed.

By the way, he actually described himself as a genius in a LinkedIn post.

He's getting funding from the gubberment already, and he can't even use the equipment he bought. A genius he is not.

I think he just needs a bit more time to figure the equipment out. He can't be perfect from the start. See how he progresses.

Why is he getting money from the tax payer to berate the tax payer????

He needs to figure out his speaking and interview technique first.
His monologues are a long train of unconnected gibberish with no point to his stories.
His interview technique is to talk over his guests while not making any coherent argument.

And his biggest contributor to his gofundfme is Pavee point, a 100% taxpayer funded organisation.
Ironically they are the one's he feels hurt and excluded by in his latest diatribe.

Tenant purchase scheme has been suspended for the last several years and there is no plans to reintroduce it anytime soon.
It's not suspended anymore. It's called the Tenant Incremental Purchase Scheme.

I'm funding your roads, your schools, and your health service to a far greater extent than I'm funding traveller accommodation though my tax contributions. We all are.
Absolute BS. Travellers have 85% unemployment. Settled people have 5% unemployment. A disproportionate amount of your tax is being spent on travellers. A huge amount of that goes on Garda resources to tackle crime committed by them. The courts and legal aid eats up another fair bit. The government also throws huge amounts on trying to keep traveller kids in secondary school but they might as well be burning the money as the adults don't want the kids getting educated or mixing with settled kids beyond primary school. Meanwhile we have decent law abiding tax paying people who can't access resources for their kids because the services are too stretched. Away and sh!te with your virtue signalling.

And why is that do you think? Are employers just d1ckeads who won't employ Travellers or have Travellers earned a reputation for being untrustworthy and aggressive? Look at any other minority section of Irish society. In the past 30 to 40 years we have seen a lot of different people join our island. We have all races and ethnicities here now and they have all integrated. Look at any primary school class and I guarantee you will see mixed kids with one Irish parent and the other is eastern european/black/asain/middle eastern.

Go to any halting site and see how many mixed kids you can count. I'm guessing zero.

Irish employers will hire anyone who is capable of doing the job. Every other minority has managed to integrate into Irish society in a relatively short period of time. Why can't Travellers do the same? They've had 400 years (accepted theory is that they are transients from Cromwell's plantations from the 1600's). Immigrants have had less than 40.

Regarding travellers and employment. My local Tesco has a cleaner and she's a traveller. There is also another lady who would have worked at a salon a little when she was younger and now she's gone out on her own.

As always, education is the answer. Education and contraception to empower women is how it progresses. Be very careful of any organisation trying to tell you otherwise.

Sometimes its not that simple. Education is important yes, but its no use if you cant understand what you are being taught. I'm part of another native Irish minority and we have huge issues with unemployment. And its not for lack of trying on our behalf. The government seems to be conveniently ignoring those issues even though they recognised our language as a native language in December 2017.

I would wager the poster is part of the deaf community and communicates with ISL. There is little provision for it in mainstream schools so they are at a huge disadvantage in their education.

Yes you are right and the government only recently granted that right to be educated through the medium of ISL.Previously there was no right and Deaf people were educated in a spoken language that they couldnt hear, yet were expected to understand. This has lead to huge issues with literacy and has had a knock on effect further down the line. The issue now with that right being given to an education in their native language is the lack of teachers with ISL fluency.

What the hell has that got to do with cash or travellers????

Travellers are given anything and everything.

Schools have to have specialised s&a to help and teachers running after them like there will be no tomorrow.

Just saw the photo of the 9 year old. A bit provocative for her age, to say the very least. When Mammy is training you to go into the family business its not so shocking I suppose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,086 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

I thought Becca only turned 9 today?

    Yeah it's a strange one

She's quoted as 9 already in an article I can find

"Keyboard warriors flooded her Facebook with abuse and flagged up photos of the mother of seven drinking and splashing out on a dress for her nine-year-old daughter Rebecca’s Communion."

    https://www.thesun.ie/news/2972064/homeless-mum-margaret-cash-arrested-caravan/

"Ms Cash and her seven children – Johnny, 11, Tommy, 10, Rebecca, nine, Miley, seven, Jim, four, Rocky, two, and Andy, one – have been in emergency accommodation for over a year after her landlord went bankrupt and their house was repossessed."

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/mammy-what-are-we-going-to-do-mother-tells-of-heartbreak-after-six-kids-sleep-in-garda-station-861042.html

"At the time Margaret’s seventh child, Rebecca, 9, was staying with a family friend after recently being released from Tallaght Hospital."

    https://extra.ie/2018/08/24/news/irish-news/margaret-cash-and-her-seven-children-on-the-move-again-after-accommodation-error

"Trolls also used photos of her daughter Rebecca, nine, making her Holy Communion to make claims about her spending elaborately."

why are they given those if they place little value on education in the first place? Why do they need SNA?
