Reapplying silicone in kitchen

    Last December I got my kitchen painted. As part of the job, I got the tiles behind my counters painted.

    The silicone which was applied to the tile and counter joint is coming off in places, specifically behind the kitchen and hob.

    What would be the best way to to go about reapplying silicone to the joint?

    Remove all of the old silicone, clean the area. Put masking tape along both sides of the joint and silicone the joint nice and slow so that the silicone is proud of the gap.

    Wet your finger and wipe the silicone to get an even finish, remove the masking tape carefully.

    Wet your finger with a weak solution of water and washing up liquid.

    Don't use Acrylic Silicone use Caulking silicon. Caulking silicone won't shrink and will last longer but acrylic silicone has that nice shiny rubber look to it. Apply as posted above.
