So as the title says I've an interior leak in my 1990 bmw e30. It's only present in the passengers side both front and a bit in the back (under the front seat isn't too bad). There's no signs of any overhead leaks and I've also cleaned out the elephant trunk drainage pipe. It seems as if it's coming from the bottom but water only appears after heavy rain. Is there some other drainage port that could be causing this? Its a sunroof model, but the sunroof is jammed so hard to get in there to have a good look.

I had a similiar issue on an e30 and it was the plastic membrane stuck between the door card and the actual door. Pulled it off and revealed problem solved. I used windscreen mastic. Best of luck

If its rain water, as said above , the door membrane or check the square loom grommet at the front footwell, above the glove box. they rust around these and leak. You may be able to see it under the fuse box.

Could be leaking from the fuse box, windscreen or windscreen drainage area below the wipers. You can remove the glove box fairly handy to look for signs of water there on the inside of the bulkhead. The bottom of the a pillar tends to rot.

The sunroof drain is a bit of tubing going down the a-pillar from the corner of the sunroof to the wing area. You can remove the a-pillar cover and the headliner for a look at them.

Hope that helps. Can post pics if your stuck.

Yeah the bottom of the a pillar does have some corrosion as you can see. Also attached a pic of the wet patch but not sure of visable. The door car appears to be missing a few retaining clips but the plastic membrane appears to be in fact.

Bottom of a pillar is a bit corroded as you see. The door card is missing a few retaining clips but the plastic membrane seems to be in good condition. Gonna take a better look at it after nct

Not sure if you can make out the wet patch but essentially that's the whole passenger side floor

Looks wet alright. The leak could be from that corner of the windscreen. It will be coming diwn behind the glove box if it is.

Hoping it's not the case but we'll see. Weird that it seems like it's coming from the bottom of the car. Glove box is jammed shut at the moment so need to get that open and have a look
