Looks like precip will be picking up shortly in a lot of North Wicklow, Kildare (the eastern half anyway) and probably Dublin with South Meath a little while after.

Radar returns are looking a lot more substantial to the south of these areas, in the past 30/40 minutes

went for a run at lunch and much milder than expected in Cork city. No colder than an average Irish winters day right now.

have to say i'm looking forward to this Atlantic cold spell being over. Days like today are totally miserable and high heating bills without getting any satisfaction from a proper snow event.

Is it finally cold enough for it to snow at any lower-levels (about 100m elevation) ?? Or is it still too warm.

The front is pivoting now so if it's going to happen it will be this evening. Also some risk of hail and snow showers following on to the east coast later tonight.

Mountain folk in Wicklow doing well

it's cold enough in many places already, sadly there is a severe lack of precipitation. Many places that are seeing light drizzle or sleet would probably see snow if the precipitation was decent.
