I wouldn't be a "frost hollow" but it's -5c here in South Laois. The lowest that model was showing for me was -3c.

Kilkenny City just above -4c also.

Im NW Kilkenny and its -4c here now

Latest HIRLAM has less precip but an upgrade in wintry potential (with a pinch of salt). Seems the cold is biting harder than expected

Good night. Should be an interesting day tomorrow.

If there is snow tomorrow can we expect it to stick around with us for a few days as temps stay low?

    All depends on the models.

Netweather showing rain, I doubt there's any snow except for mountainous areas.

Looks to be rain with a bit of sleet at the leading edge going on the NW radar.

Just home from work. Car is showing 0c
But the strange thing is it's raining heavily . I always assumed that under 2c it would a least be sleet. 10 k nw of Bandon 180m above sea level.

Be interesting to see if snow reports begin any time soon. But I would say odds are stacked against a major snow event now

Really don’t want any snow or ice here, would be most inconvenient as I have work (outside) for the next few days and it can’t be put off and I’ll need to traverse molls gap in Kerry a couple of times.

Saturday is ground hog day we could be in for a fair few more weeks of winter yet, what's our equivalent of this or do we need to start one. I leave it up to the weather gurus whether we should or not.

Also Candlemas, the end of the Forty Days of Christmas...and Saint Brigid on 1st..

Still heavy rain and wind here.

Rain/small hail shower here, melting on impact, doesn't auger well for later. Trip to the mountains for my snow fix this weekend I feel.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Heavy hail in bray. Making paths and roads very slippy

It's freezing on impact in bray. Very dangerous

I can confirm beautiful big flakes of snow falling in the Dublin Mountains. :)

Heavy rain here in Whitechurch, Co. Cork (Blarney side of the city, similar elevation to Cork airport).

Coldest overnight air minimum was -5.8 °C/grass minimum -10 °C at Dublin Airport. Mullingar next on -4.8/-8, while Oak Park was -3.7/-10.

In the North, Magilligan No 2 (Derry coast) has an air minimum of -8.5 °C and a grass minimum similar.

Current temperatures all well above these values and rain being reported at all stations. TAFs all exclude snow, except Knock, which has light snow on and off between 8 am and 7 pm.
