If she said it was the aliens, chemtrails or trump I could get where she is coming from but she is out of order......

I doubt she knows the history behind the IRA and the troubles with the North. She just thinks "the RA" are cool, like you do when you're in school aged 12.

I guess she probably left school around that age and never matured out of it.

Good point, I had forgot people used to inscribe IRA into school desks.

Would she be able to point out 'The North' on a map I wonder.??
Better still, would she know what a map is.?
Maybe she would accept a house up there.
Would the perks and benefits be the same as the South.?

The only association between Travellers and the IRA is the recent drug trade with the dissies and hiding their guns in halting sites.

I wonder how the left-liberals who blindly defend Travellers no matter what make their peace with supporting someone who champions the IRA, supports hard-right anti-immigration groups, wishes a painful death to a gay half-Indian Taoiseach, has 39 criminal convictions under her belt by the age of 28, and whose husband recently spent time in prison for assaulting the elderly.

Margaret Cash's history and statements show that she is a racist, a nationalist, a homophobe, and a convicted criminal. But it's the people criticizing her who are labeled racists.

    Go figure.

Most of those are traffic convictions, so not real convictions. Do try to keep up :pac:

It was for the chance of owning the doll things. Surely anyone here who found themselves homeless would be spending their money in online raffles, rather than saving for a deposit. It's the council's responsible to house the homeless, not the homeless persons!

The rest of us need good honest working class lefties who read Karl Marx books to tell us how it is

I'm not sure what it is that you need but a certain percentage of the population will always be susceptible to populism. It's the same thing with astrology, homeopathy, multi-level marketing and the likes. It won't fool everyone but it fools people enough to be worth a go from time to time.

There will always be some people who can't spot populism in front of them and will fall for it. That's just life but there will always be a percentage of people who fall for a millionaire with a "man of the people", "telling it like it is" shtick.

Couldn't agree more. We've a section of the population who believe that the woman at the centre of this thread is some kind of a victim and the people who turned down those houses in Tipperary right to do so.

All being cheered on by a lefty media and gubbernerment afraid to do or say anything about it.

If you think Casey was being "populist" you've a lot to learn.

Plenty of people have been fooled into believing that Travellers are a harmless minority group whose traditions and culture greatly enrich the Irish nation. They believe that Travellers' social and economic problems stem from settled people's appalling history of intolerance and racism, and believe that settled people should now respect Travellers' separate ethnic identity and keep handing them all the houses, stables, cash and entitlements they want.

I'd personally find it easier to believe in astrology than to believe the prevailing left-liberal groupthink about Travellers.

Ah the old "populism " guff.
Anything that disagrees with the right on narrative is mere "populism", clung to in desperate hope by the unsophisticated masses.

Peter casey didnt just appeal to a few "fools" , he appealed to many who were sick to fcuk of the pandering and indulging of a certain "ethnic minority" and the mark theyre leaving on the country , people who were fully aware he was a bit of a gobshıte, but a gobshıte who refused to kow-tow to the popular media narrative.
I wouldnt conflate that with homeopathy, astrology and the like, unless you genuinely dont understand what happened.

    Margaret shared the following article

The Irish Times view on the Carrickmines deaths: the State must stand with Travellers

    https://www.irishtimes.com/opinion/editorial/the-irish-times-view-on-the-carrickmines-deaths-the-state-must-stand-with-travellers-1.3770799

"Its source was a chip-pan left on an electric ring switched to the highest setting."

Funny how there is no mention of alcohol or drugs in relation to the chip pan fire

Also no mention of the feud which meant the family moved in the first place

" Party members who play the anti-Traveller, racist card in local politics must be sanctioned by their parties. Communities intent on stymying safe, secure accommodation for Travellers must be faced down.
Only when this happens can Government claim to be serious about addressing the chronic discrimination faced by Travellers. "

This type of crap is exactly why the media was so anti Peter Casey
