Hi Just noticed some weird corrosion on the spool that feeds my MIG, is this normal? should I take the wire off the spool when not using the MIG for long periods of time? It's along the channel that is pulling the wire on the outside
    Thanks

Tbh, I can't see much corrosion there at all. If you're using M/S wire there may be rust dust that builds up in the tube before the feed-roll and gets carried onto it. The other possibility is that it's some of the copper coating is coming off the wire which is normal.

Not really a problem as such as the feed-roll is way harder than the wire going through it.

Personally I would take the coil off if not using for a good while, or at least wrap the coil in a plastic bag with a sachet of that silica gel stuff in it.

Thanks for the advise, yes, it was the little grey buildup on the feed roll I was curious about. I guess I could just remove it and clean it up.

    Thanks again
