    Hi,

I'm sure this has been answered before. But just want to double check nothing has changed.

I've taken a car off the road that was taxed for a full year in October. We might as a family want to use that car in the future and selling it doesn't represent good value.

So just to double check - I can't claim the next 8 months of tax back? I thought you used to be able to do so. Also form RF120 seems to suggest not...

    Thanks.

You can't declare the car off the road until the tax expires so there is no way to defer the 8 months tax.

Refunds are very limited, I'm not sure if there's any way to get a refund without scrapping the car.
