What's with the Revenue nonsense? It has nothing to do with the OPs situation

The OP thinks that as their friend is ill, they don't have to pay any tax. Posters are warning the OP that AirBnB income = income that their friend has to pay tax on, and better doing it now rather than have an enforcement order against them for tax owed.

Its implied that the arrangement was null and void once they stopped living there.

Its the same as being overpaid salary or such no.

How is it implied? 2 sides to every story. The OP could be a complete nutjob and the other person have had no choice but to move out and may now be out of pocket for their deposit etc. We simply don't know.

It is obvious the OP is only telling us the bit they want us to hear here.

As has been said already the money is gone, close the Airbnb account, open a new one and get revenue compliant for the Airbnb income and move on.

The OP is looking for advice not a character assumption, and as regards the rest of the story im not going to trawl the depths regarding this situation to curry favour. A vulnerable woman is looking for help, she has been left in a financial hole in the worst month of the year to raise finances. Helpful suggestions are welcome.

Has she been declaring the income to revenue?

Airbnb declare it to revenue so it is definitely being declared.

AirBnB informing Revenue and income actually being declared by someone for purposes of assessment are completely different things.
