Yep I still use ES, Pro works well for me.

Wasn't the original concern the Chinese are using my data? Apathy means I used it after that, so I'll probably continue on.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Seeing how you have to be on the same wifi network as the attacker on the ES file app, its a low chance of being exposed.

Solid explorer is much better IMO

Anyone finding contact profile photos gone missing in the latest WhatsApp update? Not the ones they've set themselves but it used to sync a photo from your phone contacts if there wasn't one set, doesn't seem to any more.

It'll be a matter of days before someone has a work around in place. Wouldn't be enough to stop me using it anyway, I don't have one on Chrome on my phone and rarely have one running on the PC and it never bothers me.

Be mindfull that out of the box chrome will have some background stuff running on boot-up of your computer unless you disable it.

Never been an issue for me. It just has handy cross device sync that I've always used.

Awww I came in here expecting to see a List this this and this, easy to read, of Games or Apps I could scroll up and down on and pick and choose from, and click on the link and Job done. Is there any way to take out all the talking out of the Thread and maybe start antother Thread for like App Support / Chat or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 793 ✭✭✭ImARebel

I like the chat, I get a heads up on stuff I wouldn't or mightn't have known anything about

The aliexpress thread died a death when it was split out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,286 ✭✭✭✭Tom Mann Centuria

Before these chat posts the most you'd have to scroll past to get to app suggestions is about five or six posts. Don't really think it's that big a deal, and thread isn't busy or big enough to merit a separate chat thread. Besides, I like seeing if people have experience of using recommended apps.

It's a 2 year old thread. There's a lot of nessecary discussion related to many of the apps.
There's plenty of lists within the play store.. try your luck there if you just want to pick and choose. You are asking for non discussion on a discussion forum ?

    +1 to that

This is the second incarnation of a thread that has been running since 2009 (almost 10 years).

I think it works well. If you visit daily, there won't be more than 4 or 5 new posts usually.

Check out the links corkie posts 2 or 3 times a week. There is always some good stuff there about new apps and apps on sale. :o

What good are app recommendations if people can't discuss their experiences

    Just a heads-up on WhatsApp.

The latest update makes you restricted to forward on a pic or chat to a max of five recipients at a time.

    Five.

Bit of a step backwards imo.

One workaround: save the media to your phone then compose a new message.

Well that's one upside I suppose, but I was referring to those of us that might use WhatsApp for work purposes.

No more sending a photo and a few details of new products to a load of your best customer's in one go.

Email could be an option, but the industry I work in, most of the clients wouldn't be email savvy, WhatsApp is just about palatable to some.

Fair enough. But for everyone in your position there are hundreds of absolute morons who blindly forward everything to everybody.

Telegram is a better option for stuff like that anyway. I know, not gonna get everyone on to telegram, but as it's not really used as one on one messenger app as much as a group notifier or support type app, it may be easier to sell it to them like that.

    Already on it S.

I think I have one other contact using it though, so am definitely gonna have my work cut out.

It's actually almost identical to WhatsApp, but they're after getting some head start of an advantage.

Just on Telegram. Telegram x app is way better than the normal app.
