If I don't contribute to her wages through the licence fee shake down I get put behind bars and branded a criminal

Could you not just live without RTÉ?

I like her, I think she's doing a great job on DWTS, much better than the previous host.

You forgot Kathryn Thomas. I think Jennifer is pretty annoying too but the venom directed at Vogue, Caitriona and Kathryn is just bizarre. And they try to find stuff wrong with them. It's total desperation.

And even if you pay the TV licence, you don't have to watch any programme that they're on.

My only issue with Kathryn Thomas is all the shouting and yelling she does.
She reminds me of angry school teaching!

Have people considered just ignoring the crap instead of constantly complaining about it here?

If I don't contribute to her wages through the licence fee shake down I get put behind bars and branded a criminal

    No, no you don’t

And entertainment programs are not funded by the licence fee

I have every right to be annoyed when my taxes pay her wages.

They don’t. Entertainment shows are not funded by the licence fee.

Why are there ads on RTÉ?

The majority of RTɒs activities are of a public service nature. The cost of providing these services, however, exceeds the amount of licence fee revenue which RTÉ receives. As a result, RTÉ engages in commercial activities to bridge the funding gap.

It sounds like they just combine their funding and it's not separate.
I'm sure there has been years when they couldn't secure as much ad revenue but I've never seen them cut back on entertainment shows because of it.

I don't watch DWTS really but I listen to a lot of Breakfast republic in the morning because my son loves it and she wouldn't bother me as much if she wouldn't be so downright rude. Sometimes she's insulting people where there's no need to and it's really OTT.

But I found myself quite amused by Bridget and Eamon, more than it should really.

Perry is a well established journalist and it's completely dishonest for anyone to suggest she has no talent.

Laura isn't really hated, its just that weird mikey taylor guy who has a fixation on her and members here are taking the mick, Vogue has been stated why here so many times and Jennifer is mentioned here, and not really bothered by the Perry one

and just for diversity, for you, Bernard O'Shea, Ray D'arcy, Graham Linehan and Eoghan McDerrmott

Perry was good when she was in the US. She doesn't have the Anne Doyle wink tough.
