Stone outside External Wall Insulation EWI

Has anyone build a natural stone wall as a finish outside of external wall insulation on a new build? Is it possible? Does it need to be tied back through the insulation to the block wall which will then introduce thermal bridges at each tie back fixing??

2. In theory yes, but as you go on to ask..
3. Fixing through ewi, thermal bridges, yes.

Could you use stone ‘slips’

Or just wide cavity with block outer leaf with stone outside of block ?
