Isn’t it lucky then I’ve had no such issues with people of race?!? Would you like to discusss the high level of unemployment within the community?? Domestic violence? The % of prison population being from the traveling community? Perhaps we could have a discussion about how they can afford relatively new trailers and vans on social welfare?
In my business I have constant problems with travellers with absolutely no regard for my time, or my business. I had one such “gentleman” raid the premises while I was there. A family member was left in hospital after being hit by an uninsured driver, traveller of course, no remorse or concern showed. I’m fact she was nearly expecting him to sue her.
And while you’re in such a good mood maybe you could explain why they show blatant disregard for the law that is sending all minors to full time education up until the age of 16.

Along with rights come responsibly, they might want to brush up on that

The chip pan started the fire but the fact that the caravans were squished into a small site with inadequate fire safeguards is against regulations. They were caravans though.

They didn't keep them safe themselves of course it's sad so many perished but it's nobody else's fault.

Chip pan, deep fat fryers and anything electrical are dangerous.

If they had of had bought themselves smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms maybe they would have gotten out.

They were also provided with fire extinguishers which they didn't use any of them that were provided.

It's nearly like you want them to be baby sat but they are grown adults but maybe you are on to something there as their childish behaviour is something else.

They in most cases are an embarrassment to this country and its people.

There were ads on television in the 80's telling everyone that chip pans were bad news. I don't know anyone who uses them. Some responsibility for yourself and your family has to be taken sometime.

Outside of the fire danger, I don't know anyone who uses chip pans anymore because of the health implications (not to mention the fact that you'd smell like a chip shop after it).

It can't be easy for councils to find suitable sites for these families when there's a veto on them from other families.

The council had originally planned to relocate the Connors family from a Sandyford site to one in Rathmichael over a decade ago but a family that had been living there opposed the move.

Yeah, the religion thing always makes me laugh - the choir in Rathkeale actually walked out due to travellers disrupting mass and dressing like hookers - and the travellers responded that they were "better catholics" than the settled people!

They are massive drug dealers. I know of them giving heroin to addicts to keep them hooked.

Yeah, I'm well aware of it - there is a halting site in my local town that is notorious for drug dealing, however the travellers are always claiming that they don't do drugs themselves - one of the many hyprocrisies they ascribe to.

That's the official figure according to the 2016 census.

But they also found that only 12.6 percent of male Travellers and 10.1 percent of female Travellers were actually working. There were more male Travellers on disability (13.6 percent) than there were working.

Schemes - I've a friend in the DEASP and she told me that every traveller she's aware of that is classed as "working" is either involved in some traveller project (where they usually don't turn up but get paid anyway) or has signed up to some dole scheme to avoid a jail sentence.

You mean her forever home?
No but apparently she is moving from a B&B to a hub for homeless families.
The hubs I've looked up look nice with good facilities and much more suited to a family than a B&B. But it will cost her €37 a week so she's not happy!
