max lampshade weight for a standard ceiling pendant?

    My daughter asked me to fit a new lampshade in a room. I am concerned about the weight, its a Tiffany style shade thats really meant for a table/standard lamp. Not sure of the exact weight but its over 2kg

    It will have to be attached to a chain and screwed into a ceiling joist at the absolute minimum. You'll get away with just a cable and a fabric shade hanging out of the plasterboard, but no way this thing can be hung like that.
