Well this is very disappointing, can't get over how quiet the crowd is too.

He had him on the ropes and threw it away.

If Smith had any hope of winning, he needed to take an early lead. He lacks bottle and the head drops too easily. Game was over at 2-0 for me.

The worst worlds ever which is a massive shock considering we had so many major upsets early on

There's a double Smith could hit, Tim and Jeremy Vine.

I think it's because of those early upsets TBH. There's just too much of a gap between the top 3/4 and the rest.

    Crowd have given up too

For me Smith is just a younger version of Dave Chisnall - big scorer but no bottle

    A terrible World Championships.

Smith has also now bottled this completely.

To be fair, there's been very little to shout about the last few sets

Smith's body language is awful, just give the trophy to MVG now.

If Michael Smith was being 3D printed starting from the tip of his head to his toe. You'd be fairly certain after the first 3 inches that it was printing a skinny average man

Massive finish from Smith! Hopefully the start of a comeback, MvG is nowhere near his best so it is possible if Smith can find his best form.

Now they were two cracking finishes. Might rattle MVG a bit.

That's a great bounceback from Smith after the end of the 4th set. Fair play to him.
