29 maximums in a match by one player is phenomenal

It was 30 between them. Smith had 17 which was a semi final record. After that first set, MVG and Anderson could beat that record!

Two heavyweights looking to knock 7 bells out of each other.

Anderson can't go with him and Smith can never beat mvg anyway so world title no 3 is a lock

    He'll be back.

I think Anderson’s best hope was getting out in front early on. Not at all confident of a turnaround here.

Mvg is too good tonight for Andy to be pissing away sets

Ando needs to up it and fast.

105 minimum required to stay with him.

This could get messy. So far off the trebles, not like him.

Savage darts so far from MvG, hard to see a way back if it goes 4-0.

    MVG just fantastic tonight

Smith won't have a hope either if mvg plays like this new years

Pure class from MVG. I don't think even Phil at his best could live with him on this form.

Michael smith thinking about calling in sick New Year’s Day...

Think he was extra focused for this, probably feels he owes Anderson a good beating.

Can’t see any way back for Anderson

You must not have seen the Smith game earlier.

    Calm down there now.

MVG is almost unplayable in this kind of form. Peak Taylor was also though.

Smith could live with him if it s fast and furious. As long as he hasnt time to think.

Gary's not even playing too bad, Michael is just in one of those moods.

No if you actually followed the whole years events you'd know Smith never beats him
