We have this mini rise then its crashing back down below the last previous low. I've cashed in a small bit to gave a few hundred euro to buy back in during to bottoming and increase my overall.

That bottom will be it then, we will get a slow and steady rise in 2019.

Why do you think the bottom is coming and that the steady rise is on the way thereafter for 2019?

2018 has been a distaster. Is the tech going to breakout soon? Or are you purely looking from a speculative view?

This recovery over the last few days is driven by speculators closing out shorts. But it's an artificial rise, and already on it's bounce back down. ETH peaked at €137, and is now testing €99.

The tech that was promised is coming on stream, once the ICO'S start again it will come back. Pretty slowly. I reckon it will take the year to get back to about 4k a bitcoin.

Set up an account at Coinbase. Bank transfer money in (if you send on a Monday morning it should be there Tuesday afternoon). Buy some crypto.

Buying in stages and (eventually) selling in stages is recommended. It may be years before we see significant (if ever) rises again

And 24h after you posted that, ETH is $138 :p

I'd say we saw the bottom earlier this month, can't see it go back under $100 myself

Hell, mining is even profitable again. And giving me free heating. Haven't used the gas boiler at all for heating in the past week (I know it is very mild for the time of the year)

    ETH $146

I'd say $200 by the end of January is a serious possibility. And $500 by year end.

I'd agree with that. Plenty of positive news coming for ETH.

I see some maturing tech already..
Stable coins are a great development , MKR is doing well. It's proven itselfin the downturn in my opinion .

Travel blockchains have concrete use cases AVA LOC. Also lending block chains , LEND .

IOTA is constantly improving, so is NANO. Just needs more adoption.

All these projects I have followed quite closely for between six months to a year and they are legit.

Security coins could finally start to take off, lots of contenders. Theres massive potential to monetise assets on different ways.

Using block chain for image , video and data authentication is going to be a powerful use case . Look up Amber.

XRP is gaining traction, great to reduce intl payment delays and costs.

We just need dapps to improve accessibility this could finally be the year a few easily accessible dapps break through. They may be gambling apps, gaming, travel, payment or something else.

We will have a few breakthroughs in 2019 and I see possibly 2020 and 2021 as being really big in terms of price, usage and media attention.

Some expressed some doubt as to the tokenization of stocks/bonds/real estate, etc. Here's an example of that coming to fruition.

Not everyone lives in the United States - there is a world beyond. Aside from that, trading is facilitated 24/7. Furthermore, as networks build, there will be less friction in terms of cross-platform transfer via blockchain. The Stellar Network is an example.

On another note, BitTorrent launched their own token today - exposing 100 million active monthly users across 220 countries to cryptocurrency.

I like the current market, I feel any sharp rises will be quickly culled and rekindle super-low confidence, instead it seems to be slowly ticking along - nothing too dramatic, and that's good

If it can manage to do this for a few months it will hopefully renew confidence. I still feel that this year needs to be similar to 2015/2016. But, if we get a bull run, we could risk dipping right back into a bear and back to square one. TLDR the market needs a lot more time to recover basic confidence

There are reports out today that the 'yellow vest' movement in France are planning on a run on the banks. What has this to do with crypto? Well, it should bring home to people that an 'event' with FIAT only has to happen once. We may experience relative stability but it doesn't take much for circumstances to change.

Equally, due to the very nature of fractional reserve banking, it may not take much for this to cause a problem. I have not been following these events so I don't know how well organised this lot are. It could also be deeply insightful to ordinary people as to how little it may take to effect such a scenario.

Even if they're not successful, its food for thought with regard to taking control of your own finances in any event.

What it has to do with crypto is that if you search for this story the vast bulk of the 'reporting' of it is from crypto websites (and a couple of others that talk about 'Zionist' control of the banking system).

Think about it objectively - the yellow vest movement have about the same ability to put a man on the moon as they have to orchestrate a run on the banks.
