The way he trails off at the end just sounds pathetic. Always sounds like he's trying to hype it up too much. Think he needs to change his approach completely, make it a bit less hyped, more casual.

I'm a big fan of the guy all the same, I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

I think the live shows this year have been some of the best to listen to as podcasts. I think it's the way they've chopped them up, and still had normal intros and other segments in the podcasts. They haven't just presented them as "December Live Show".

I was thinking we'd get "showbiz baby" Dunphy when he was put in front of a live crowd, instead of the more circumspect and thoughtful version anytime they had him in studio, it was good fun though.

In spite of all the changes over the last 40 years, it seems like barely anything has changed in football, a lot of what Dunphy wrote still rings through.

Just read the description for today's pod, batten down the hatches :o

I was at that Liberty Hall show. While it seems Dunphy sounds more reserved than normal on the podcast, he still brought a "showbiz baby" element to stage - he came out wearing nipple tassels :pac:

That's what I was trying to say but phrased it badly, when they had him in studio he'd seem more quiet, but in front of a crowd he'd try to get a reaction from them "I think the fact that these two goons are gone is a massive plus"

I think that depends on whether there's a "green room" or not.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

Haven't read the agassi book but the other 3 are great, you'd nearly pack in drink after reading Paul McGraths book.
Sea buscuit and the Tyler Hamilton book would be two more I really enjoyed.

Andre Agassi's autobiography is a fantastic read. It's probably my favourite sports autobiography.

I really enjoyed Jonny Wilkinson's book as well. The mental torture that he put himself through his career is unbelievable. Plus he had so many physical injuries and yet kept coming back to play

Hopefully there will be a Christmas Eve football show after a rather exciting weekend of football. They didn't say anything about not putting one out, although I haven't listened to Friday's political podcast yet.

There won't be. They said so on that pod.

Paul Kimmage angrier than ever. Great players chair. Richie is great at interviews, doesn’t pull any punches.

Is that a new one or a re-post?

Repost of the interview from March! Come on lads. Xmas eve is a Monday working day for a lot of people. Especially with a big weekend of soccer on Saturday.

Eoin did introduce it as such, clearly saying it was back in march.

I always skip the first minute or so. Jingles do my head in.

Little bit disappointed there wasn't a football pod today given the weekends results but I'm not one to complain

Football weekly done one yesterday and totally done one today.
What was the point of recycling Kimmage.

It's a little more than the price of a pint. Don't be hungry all your life.
