Can’t see anything in that link but if it was to imply I have anything but supported the idea of Pochettino for United I would dispute that entirely. I have long been wishing for him to be our manager but always said he was never going to leave Spurs for us due to their upturn in form at the same time as our downturn. The timing also seemed to be wrong. This time it feels right.

If you find the link I was probably thanking it in support of Jose as I did actually support him up until the City home game last year. I don’t need to píss on one person to praise another.

    Have fixed the link.

Fair point that you were in support of Mourinho, but the post was certainly deriding Poch's lack of success

So what are peoples thoughts on starting line up and formation.

I was thinking maybe a slight change under the new management.

    A 4-2-3-1

    De gea
    Dalot smalling lindelof young
    Matic herrera
    Mata pogba martial
    Lukaku or rashford

It would push pogba forward more while allowing for mata in the side aswell.

Plenty of combination with the two sitting midfielders with Fred mctominay fellaini and Pereira also options.

Defence an obvious concern but I think confidence is shot with some of them.

I'd put Martial, Shaw and Lukaku in more of list. Lukaku has it in him to improve.

I'd add Young to your less of list

Lukaku just needs to find his level of last year again. He has it in him, our style of play with him as the back to goal front man, and dropping deep cos there's no player within 20 yards of him just doesnt suit him. We need to get him running in bwhind defences and in positions where he can bully lads in the box.

It’s a strange one because the post seems to be on its own out of context with the conversations going on at the time. I’ll for the fun of it go back and try to make sense of it but yeah i thanked someone else’s post (twasn’t mine) for the Jose part as I definitely could go back and pull posts praising Poch.

I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a bit of a Spurs fan, I have been from the Harry Redknapp days. I will watch any game they play if I can. I’m not confused when it comes to United games though.

I'm fuming from what I heard on the radio this morning. Apparently some players including you know who were high five each other. The players should not be excused from blame and should get their P45 starting with Pogba. It would shoe intent that we mean business. The funds can be reinvested in players who will commit 100 percent.

I actually found a post from 7 years ago asking opinion on Adam Johnson coming to United.

    That aged well.

With all due respect you can hear anything you want but until there is some sort of credible evidence they specifically high fived each other in direct response to Jose leaving then I’d reserve my anger if i were you.
Don’t underestimate the desire to shít on United players from non United supporters who are now more interested in our next move than their own teams.

It was my post suggesting Poch last summer that got pelters, to which the above quote was a reply.

I was surprised today to see how much support Poch suddenly had given the previous derision of my post suggesting him, so went back and had a look at the replies to my post.

Nothing to do with you specifically, just noticed your username as having thanked that, and as supporting Poch when I looked this evening at the thread, I don't post here enough to even remember who supports who, let alone who thanked what last year

    That's a bit unnecessary.

I made a fair point last year and got pelters for it. I thought the objection to Poch was a bit ott and remembered it.

Let's pretend that was true I wouldn't be sad in the least. It's actually a positive sign that the players are happy the toxic manger is gone and they can enjoy training and matches again. They are probably chomping at the bit to have a go at teams and not play rigid sit back ball.

I see what you mean now. I don’t think you got pelters though from what I’ve looked back on. I think some people hated Jose from the get go and I wasn’t one of them so I think I was happy to thank posts in support of him at that time.

    Times changed!

Have to be careful with that thanks button from now on. ;)

Im okay with Ole getting the job until the summer. My personal view the season is a write off anyway so Ole cannot make it any worse :(

Yeah I think there is a lot of potential in that back 4 if they get a fair crack at it. It will at least give a better idea of where those players are really at.

It can't be easy trying to establish yourself as a young player when you're in and out of the team for seemingly arbitrary reasons.

That arbitrary reason was generally playing ****e.

We have 4 matches in the 11 days from saturday, a hell of an injury list, though 2 are at home, if Ole can come in and get 10/12 pts from those even using the "new manager bounce" it will set him up for the second half. I'm not expecting that to happen tbh but it's nice to be looking forward to all the football over the Christmas..

Jaysus if he can get 10 points from those games we'll be more or less safe. Happy days!!

Joking aside, those four games are against sone of the best teams we could wish to face. I'd have wanted José to get 12 points from them and hopefully Olé can do the same. Be a great start even id we got ten.

12 points is minimum requirement, anything less and I'd expect Ed to sack him.

It’s entirely possible we win all 4 games. He is a United fan who i bet watches every game and knows a few of the players and coaching staff already.
He could keep the same formation and team that Jose preffered and just give them a bit of confidence to attack and we still should be beating those teams without making massive changes to our set up.

    I’m set to optimism mode.

I don't see ole fixing our defence over night to be honest if he does he is a bloody genius I reckon 7 points from over Christmas period would be an ok turnaround.

Have seen who we are playing? Unless he makes us worse we still should be winning.

It’s hard not to feel like the appointment was a popular PR stunt. Ole has no pedigree at this level. I really hope it works out OK for him but it’s difficult to fathom him and Phelan. . Kind of remarkable that people are now quoting Di Matteo as a reference.

I noticed Gary Neville hesitating yesterday when asked if Ole could do a job and while he said “of course” I wasn’t convinced. Particularly as Neville had explained in detail why he wasn’t qualified for any role at united and they should be hiring the best and the manager was the most important position.

We all want Ole to do well and it’s nice to have him back. But stand back from the appointment and it looks like another poor call that prob won’t get recognized because fans were so disillusioned and have such low expectations that it will be hard for things to Feel worse. Players will react surely so while it will look and feel better it’s not really.

If Jones and Smalling have anything to do with it then Ole will bald by the 31st of December

Oh, so now we can expect performances to improve in the short term? We can expect the players to start producing soon?

Good, I look forward to it, it will be a delight to see these lads play well and start to display their quality. That it is against weaker opposition is also a good thing, that will give them time and space to find their rhythm again.
