Did Ole give you a bell from departures?

Fred and Bailly are two players I am very interested to see over the next while. Seemed like they were already done under Jose but have to think Ole will work with a fresh slate.

Really hope Dalot keeps RB over Valencia though.

Would like to see us try stick with a back 4 of Shaw, lindelof, Bailly and Dalot.

Harsh on Young he's been United most consistent performer this season

Do you have an agenda with that post or is there a particular point you were trying to make there?

The point people shouldn't get carried away with Ole as coach ,
I know he is a United legend and loved and rightly so but in no world should he be United coach for a 6 month period ,

Shaw has been better at LB getting down the line. Dalot should be our future right back and if we are treating this season as a write off as some here, and the club, seem to be doing then take this free hit to give Dalot the run.

Take this free hit to build for the future.

That is a very good point , Will Ole treat it as write off ?

if so Rashford , Dalot, Fred and other young players should probably start a lot,

People like Young, Valencia, Mata, and anyone else who it could be there last season should see little action ,

This is how I see it. Young and Valencia should not be starters.

Mata is arguable, he is rather unique in our squad and might be the only player for a particular role depending on tactics.

But in general, I would say team selection should focus on the younger or newer players where possible. Not 100% cause experience is needed, but where possible.

Second time youv'e said this. Its nonsense, keeping Joe would have been a write off, they acted earlier than any of the other two managers whilst we are still in three major competitions.

Jose's toxic football could not be allowed to go on any longer, he himself said top four was a tough ask and 6th or above was the aim. Leaving that in place would have been terrible.

I can see you thinking but then again Mata is gone in the summer and Young is not and Young is most consistent player and seems to have the best attitude or at least the right attitude

Fair enough then lads if that's what you all think that's me done posting in here. People like Ted and Yaba are what's wrong with the forum.

I'm sure it won't be long until you are back here.I never suffered from it but obsession is probably a hard habit to break.

Don't see why mata is gone. Could get a new contract. Not set yet.

I like young, but playing him through this season teaches us nothing and likely has no significant impact on the finishing position.

If we want to get into next season in the best way possible, then find out NOW where Shaw, Dalot, Bailly, lindelof, Fred, pogba, rashford, martial are at. Build that core or find out which should be replaced.

Hopefully he goes with that back four and they get a good run of games together. Plenty of talent there.

Anyone know what Ole favoured formation was?Think I seen itvwas 433 with FB providing width.

    First words from Molde
Molde have given Solskjaer appointment their seal of approval: "That Manchester United ask Molde FK to lend the manager is by itself an event, and not least a statement of trust for both Ole Gunnar and Molde FK. We are positive to lend Ole. We wish him + club a success."

Molde CEO in an interview with Norwegian state channel confirmed it's a loan. He is expected to be back in Molde by the end of May.

So currently it looks like no matter what Ole goes back to Molde in May. If he and Phelan do a Stellar job I'm sure UTD would make a move but as for now its a loan while UTD try find a full time manager as Ole is working, and not sitting on thier ares hoping Ole works out.

Norwegian PM has no chill :pac:

The first of what might be some nasty revelations in the coming days
Upon joining United as manager, Mourinho refused Woodward’s request to keep Ryan Giggs on his staff, claiming that he couldn’t trust the man after Giggs’ 8-yr affair with his own brother’s wife

    @ Mitch

Seriously mate what will it take to cheer you up? :)

Yesterday was like Christmas day for me. They could have put Paddy Crerand in charge and i would have still been happier than surviving with Jose.

The club performing actions I wouldn't think laughable of other clubs.

If I had faith in them to bring in a DoF with real insight, ability and responsibility, and Poch in the summer I'd likely feel diiferent.

Solskjaer is a gamble, predicated on the successful execution of other actions. And we've a poor record for that.

Also can everyone realise we are 100% not getting into the top 4 let alone the top 5.

We say we are 11 points off 4th but there is also a team 8 points above us we’d also have to knock out of contention. To expect two teams who have shown a great consistency this season to both nose dive in performances and for us to go on a near title winning streak of form is delusional.

Will be enjoying the football and listening for news on the DoF position but otherwise I’ll be happy now until the Summer regardless of where we finish.

Your in the minority though thinking OGS and Phelan as a six month loan mid season to help steady the ship is a laughable move.

As much as you want to state that opinion it doesn't make it objectively true or that people agree with you.

I hear you. But in recent memory we had people laugh at the appointment of Ranieri to Leicester and that went well. We had DiMatteo at Chelsea as another example. It would have even been laughable to put Mourinho and Wenger in charge of Porto and Arsenal respectively but that worked. I’m sure there are other examples of similar laughable decisions that somehow worked.

My point being... it’s presumptuous to laugh at it this early. You can admit it’s a gamble, declare your opinion that you think it’s possibly a mistake, but still enjoy the notion it might lead to an ultimate improvement.

    It’s Christmas, tis the season...

I would be thinking the same, its going to take a lot things to fall into place for Utd to get back into the top 4,

For now Im just looking forward to seen what the reaction will be from the players in the coming games now that Jose is gone and will Solskjaer be able to get the team playing a decent style of football again,

I’m only dreading the thoughts of this thread if there is no difference in performances. Either way there will be plenty of people here waiting to stick the knife into the players / Jose / Woodward / all previous managers if performances are good or bad.

The level of aggressive stances in here the last 24 hours has been a bad sign of things to come.
